We came here after visiting a different sushi restaurant in town and though this one wouldn't be as good, but we were wrong. Service was fast and friendly and our food was great. We ordered Miso soup (which tasted very good) and 3 plates of sushi which were very tasty. Their wasabi and ginger was fresh and their tea was... More

Spicy garlic tofu---YUMMMM Heiwa visit this trip was good. Service was great and our meals were served in a timely manner, hot and delicious. We arrived around 2:15 and were not made to feel rushed even though everyone else had left since they close at 2:30 for a while before reopening for dinner.

The only true Japanese place to eat in Asheville. The miso soup is great. Sushi rolls are varied and fresh. It can be slow when full. Worth the wait Great lunch specials and prices

In town for a conference and needed a quick and easy lunch. It's an easy walk from the Renaissance so I decided to give it a try. Amazing food with very high quality ingredients and lunch was under $10. The lunch boxes seemed like the best deal but no one should pass up the authentic noodle soup. (Even the half... More

First visit here & we were impressed by the freshness of the sashimi & sushi. We had 3 rolls & the sashimi order which was filling for 3 of us. Wait staff very efficient & friendly. The unfiltered sake was very tasty. We would definitely go back here to try other items on the menu.

We've been here several times in the past though not in the last few years. A quaint place which we found to be small and dark we now recognize as being quite Japanese. That's what a few trips to Japan can do for you. We went again and found it to be brighter and with a larger menu than we... More

Having badgered various locals for the best sushi spot, consensus guided my wife and me to Heiwa Shokudo. We were enjoying an unanticipated getaway with our youngest, and this quiet, intimate spot seemed spot on. The restaurant is small, and that is exactly what we wanted. I don;t recall more than eight tables indoors, but there was additional seating outside.... More

Went there for lunch. Although the sushi was OK quality and the portion was fair sized, my meal was basically very unenjoyable. First I wanted to sit outside but because I was alone I couldn't take up a table for 4. Inside was pretty much empty and they could have given me the table and let the others who came... More

Excellent, Do Not overlook this little restaurant! It has a quaint cozy atmosphere. The sushi, rolls, and soup were absolutely delicious, without a doubt authentic Japanese. The menu was very extensive, offerings for anyone with both small and large portions. Also serving sake, wine, and beer. The food presentation was beautifully prepared. We were promptly received by staff upon walking... More

My husband goes to Japan often for business and he says this is by far the most atheistic and delicious Japanese food he's found in the states thus far. There food is so darn delicious, we've not tried anything that we wouldn't eat again and again, their sushi is out of this world. If you like Japanese food don't let... More
