This place is a gem! Although I love Louisiana, this charming little restaurant reminds me more of Louisiana in NC. They didn't have crawfish, which are my favorite, but wow! We had 2 of the different eggs Benedict-the Southern one with biscuits and ham, and...More

We stopped by Mayfel's when we needed a place to eat with our dog and were pleasantly surprised. Great service, and great food. The Mufalatta and Beignets made me miss New Orleans. What a great find. We will be back!

My wife and I love Mayfel's! Every time we go to Asheville (3-4 times a year), we stop by Mayfel's for breakfast. Excellent food with a cajun flair. I have never been disappointed. If you like making your own Bloody Mary, then this is the...More

We enjoyed very fresh and tasty breakfast/brunch on their sidewalk patio. Staff was very friendly and attentive, wait was shorter than other nearby restaurants. Asheville scramble was very tasty and filling--the hash browns were cooked to perfection. My boyfriend loved the shrimp and grits and...More

Funky deco and great Southern food was just right for lunch. My choice was gumbo and corn bread...delightfully spicy! Hubby enjoyed catfish and Southern veggie sides. Lemon chess pie was our dessert of choice and it was mouth watering good!

Small restaurant and a little loud, but the food was worth all of this. Wait staff was great and was served very quickly. Gumbo was excellent.

We had a pretty good dinner here. It was late at night and close to closing time so service was a little slow, but other than that the food was great and our server was really helpful.

This was our first visit to Asheville, NC and headed into town to check it out. The first restaurant that caught our attention was Mayfels - I had the lobster scramble (late breakfast/early lunch!) with a build your own bloody mary. The food and drink...More

We needed to grab a quick bite, so ended up here. The gumbo was spicy and very good. The oyster po boy was average, but filling. Everything was fine, but not memorable compared to other spots in Asheville.

You can certainly assemble the elements of a brunch anytime from the menu. Cocktails and coffee when you want them.
