Went for "Restaurant Week" and everything was absolutely delicious. We loved the bartenders, waiters, and staff also. The menu was fantastic and the food was perfection. Very classy but not snotty. Can't wait to go back again soon!!

We didn't know the area and so I relied on TripAdvisor to give me suggestions and The Oceanaire Seafood Room was it! We had reservations but arrived early. That was not a problem--we were seated right away! Our waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations. I had the crab cakes and they were delicious! I also had the clam chowder... More

We enjoyed a Saturday night birthday celebration at the Oceanaire Seafood Room. What a great space! It is very open but intimate at the same time; it appears to be a former bank with a grand staircase leading down to the vault. After being promptly seated, the table was presented with a tasty chunk of sourdough bread and a crudité,... More

One of our favorite places to eat in Boston outside of the North End. It is part of an upscale chain, specializing in seafood and steaks. Despite not being a stand alone restaurant, the ambiance is outstanding, located in an old bank with marble and many complementing modern touches. The food is wonderful. The lobster, crab cakes, crab chowder and... More

I am a New York steak place kind of but this sea food place in Boston is great! I have been hear a few times and I enjoy every bit! Easy place to hear what is being said at the restaurant (if you are over 50 like me) and the service is great and the prices are reasonable for the... More

We chose Oceanaire for a birthday celebration and we are so glad that we did! Each of us had a delicious entree. Our favorites were the trout -- the chef's special and "simply prepared". The baked lobster mac and cheese with parmesan, asiago and fontina cheese was also terrific. Save room for dessert -- especially the decadently wonderful chocolate caramel... More

We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Oysters Rockefeller app was a home run. Beer Salad was amazing flavor and complemented with a luscious creamy feta. Our dinners of Seared Sea scallops and broiled haddock were cooked to perfection. Just a nice Welcome to Boston dinner for us.

Great seafood restaurant and amazing service. You will certainly pay top dollar, but as long as you know that, it really is amazing experience. We all had different dishes....bay of fundy salmon (dirty), crab cakes, lobster ravioli and large fresh crab crab sampler. Cream corn side and really everything was spectacular. Would go again for special occasions!

We had friends in from Texas and Illinois, and they asked for seafood. Following a suggestion, we tried the Oceanaire. On a very, very quiet Saturday night (Patriots playoff game), we should have had exemplary service, and we were hoping for very good food. Our waiter was great until the app course was over. We had to request water three... More

This is a fine seafood restaurant in the heart of downtown Boston. It is actually a fine choice for dinner and lunch. As to the latter, service is quick and friendly, and there are good soup and salad options.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
