I'm used to the "European" Chinese food... and I was not expecting such an amazing cuisine. The place is rather small, and before getting in I had to wait more or less 10'. The amount of people waiting outside, and the Chinese customers earing inside, though, didn't make me hesitate for even a second. And yes I was right. The... More

Gourmet Dumpling House has an extensive menu with great options. My friend and I decided to try a couple different dishes and share them. The best thing I ate during this dinner was the Mini Juicy Dumplings With Pork. These are the soup dumplings everyone raves about from here, and now I know why! I would also recommend the Pan... we were there around 11p+ on a Sunday. The place was still busy. We ordered the pot stickers, sanqian bao and f. chicken hofun with chilli. Pot stickers and the oily hofun hit the spot!!! Skip the bao.

Went to the Gourmet Dumpling House based on on-line recommendations and was glad I did. Having a direction in a Chinatown full of choices was great. There was a big line outside the restaurant at 7:30 on a Friday which seemed mostly due to large parties waiting because when we left around 9:00, there were a couple of tables and... More

I ordered the chicken & crab dumplings. I was told my order would take 20 minutes, but it ended up taking 45. I ordered 8 dumplings, but received 7. They are average, nothing to write home about, but the sauce they give you does make them taste better. Not sure I'd ever eat there again though.

I went about 5:30 pm and already a long line up in front of the door. wait about 20 mins to sit down. The food came very fast but it was cold and not streaming. Price good but service and food were average.

We got lucky on our visit today and got seated without waiting. The soup dumplings and buns were fantastic.

Typical rude Chinese - so you expect that - but food was just really bland and nothing special. This is not London Chinatown at all - it's probably real China with things on the menu you'd never touch. Everyone else's meal looked better than ours so maybe we chose the wrong dishes but on the whole we thought it was... More

Small but delicious. Probably the most delicious crab rangoon appetizers I ever ate! Definitely worth the trip

I went there with a friend for a quick dinner, early in the evening (around 6.00 pm). We could get a table immediately but the service rushed us out. One of the waitress brought us the bill before we even finished half of our plates. It was a very disappointing, even if I understand that they wanted to be able... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
A small area rich in Chinese cultural influences, visit Boston’s Chinatown for some great Asian cuisine and small, authentic bakeries. Enter through the iconic Chinatown gate and stroll down Beach, Tyler, and Kneeland streets to explore the compact area.
