After a horrible meal at a nearby restaurant we were starving and popped in here for a dessert fix. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and boy, did she make us a mean ice cream cone! I chose the Founder's Special (or something like that?) and it was the best I've ever had. I'm writing this review months... More

This chain does really good ice cream concoctions. I'm a big fan of the founders' favorite. Yum yum yum!

Cold Stone serves the ice cream just the way you want it, since you are the one that decides what's going to be in it. Even though it is a bit high priced for what you get, the service of mixing it is something that has to be included in the calculation. Indulge!

Conveniently located in Boston's Back Bay the service was friendly and quick. There were 4 of us who ordered in our party and they had us through in no time. The ice cream and plethora of mix-ins were great as always. My favorite... Strawberry Banana Rendezvous.

We used to go to Coldstone a good deal when our kids were younger. Ice cream was basically good, and the novelty of smushing up your favourite sweets into ice cream was appealing. So we went in for old times sake (even without the kids). The ice cream is no longer nice. It tastes like it came from a big... More

I love the Cold Stone Creamery. I had one of their specialty cups. It's a 5 minute walk from the Hilton & Sheraton. The only negative is the sitting area...there is none.

I just can't figure out what the attraction is here. It's certainly not the ingredients, which is just plain ice cream. In an age of Ben and Jerry's and HD, how can this place offer up just-plain ice cream? Is seeing one's ice cream being chopped up on a cold stone THAT exciting? Sorry, just don't get it.

We waited twenty minutes for ice cream but only crawled forward in line about three feet. There were two employees competing to be the slowest moving employees. Moving the few steps from scooping ice cream to the cash register was the pace of a glacier. All of Boston was alive with the 120th Boston Marathon but this business was not... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
