Needed a place for an intimate dinner & celebration. Sol Azteca was perfect! Every dish was delicious, and arrival was well paced. We will return.

I have been coming here for more than 20 years - this is not anything like fast food - so don't even put it in the same box. Their truly authentic food is amazing, large portions - terrific sangria - great atmosphere (there is one in Newton Center too). I particularly love Mole sauce (you either hate it or you... More

Very unassuming but great food. The queso asada was ridiculous!!! Tostadas excellent, get the homemade habinero sauce if you like spicy!

We searched TA for a Fenway area restaurant that would take a reservation before the Billy Joel concert. I happened upon Sol Azteca and so glad I did, making the reservation through Open Table. We were seated outside on a lovely warm evening. Three of us shared a carafe of their house sangria... Great flavor with cinnamon spicing. Jim asked... More

We walked from our hotel the Hotel Commonwealth to eat at this restaurant. Everyone here was so nice. The food was great and the location was a great neighborhood place.

Best margarita - strong and delicious! Some good dinner options that are not your standard tex-mex fair. Cilantro shrimp as excellent as was the mango chicken. Great guacamole. Only disappointment was the salsa - no kick and tons of onions. Outside seating option is nice.

I came here a few times when I lived in Boston. The interior is colorful and cozy, with an authentic feel. The service was absolutely lovely. One particularly snowy night, we nearly had the restaurant to ourselves. We got to know the staff and had a lovely chat. The food is incredible! Authentic Mexican dishes and in large servings! Not... I love Sol Azteca. It's one of the first restaurants I tried in Boston (7 or 8 years ago?) and I've gone there frequently ever since I moved here. The food is excellent. Chips and salsa and guacamole are satisfying and classic, I love the chilaquiles and nopalitos the best. Many of my friends love the enchiladas verdes. All entrees... More

Been going here for years. Great food, copious, true to Mexico and a great outside space to people watch. I'll keep coming back.

Thank Chris W

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
