Gennaro's was a fine restaurant and we ate there many times, but it closed several months ago, soon to reopen as North Square Oyster... The food pictures of the new place look delicious, the Instagram photos of the renovations look beautiful. I'm just waiting for...More

5 North Square is in the North End but is certainly not a North End restaurant. As soon as you enter the foyer you feel comfortable. Tables are no cramped together, the noise level is low, the waiter and staff are smiling and seem genuinely...More

We were there for lunch; I heard that the place was good for dinner. I left feeling disappointed. The food did not taste fresh. The veal was tough and the shrimp tasted frozen - the sauces lacked flavor. I couldn't detect any garlic in the...More

Arrived at 5 pm 12/31 the staff was most accommodating. Our server was great, very comfortable inside. The food was very good for Italian restaurant. The Sauce though I was not a big fan of, overall great experience with a great staff

We had lunch at Gennaro's. The service and food were great. Homemade spaghetti....Portion size was perfect. Music was a bit strange for an Italian restaurant....but overall highly recommended.

Four of us had dinner on a Saturday evening and it was OK but to be honest the North End has better. Food was reasonable but nothing special, the wine list was good - and service was adequate. But for the price you can do...More

We were hungry for a great Italian meal as usual haha. I had heard great things about this place. I even saw it reviewed on one of those cooking channels. We were only able to get a seat across from the front door, so everytime...More

I chose Gennaro's for a picture I saw online of a woman sitting at a cozy little table by a bowed window. I was looking for cozy, romantic for a Saturday night dinner. The building itself is cozy and romantic, but the atmosphere changes a...More

We have been going to the North End for years, and tend to go to our favorites. Wanting to try some place different, we thought Gennaro's looked cute, and had a light lunch menu. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy, our waiter Zach extremely pleasant...More
