Barlow's is a staple of the Fort Point, South Boston, Seaport area. It's a great place to go and catch a game with a great crowd. I was here recently in April and it's the same story as it always has been for me. The crowd is typically people who live/work in the very small 3-4 block area. During lunch,... More

Great restaurant with great pizzas and music to accompany the meal. No need to book during the week but it can get busy. Staff are attentive and efficient.

The service was okay. The food was okay ... burgers, salads, fries, etc. The prices were above average for average food (except for the really over-priced apps). Unfortunately, no real reason to ever go back. With such a trendy location, you'd think they'd up their game, but ...

Couldn't have been more pleased with the staff taking care of our large board meeting group. Everything was temperature perfect. Bar was fast.

I would give 3.5 stars if half stars were allowed. Barlow's is a great option for this type of restaurant (of which you can't help but stumble upon dozens in Boston), and less expensive than many of the others in this neighborhood. They have a pretty good beer, wine, spirit, and cocktail selection, and our waiter was great. The downside... More

Stopped here for brunch on a rainy Sunday. The restaurant was warm and cozy. The waitstaff from welcoming and friendly, service was fast and our food was fantastic! French toast was light and fluffy and my Broadway breakfast skillet was delicious and SPICY!!! Can't wait to go back for dinner...

Great stop after the movies. Light fare and great prices. Nachos, burgers and healthier options as well like grilled fish sandwich and interesting salads. Service is friendly and efficient.

Here's a place that has outstanding food, service, and drinks in a very nice setting and reasonable prices. What more could you want? It's not in the midst of a ton of traffic, but not far away from much more crowded places, which means it's just a little out of the way but not as loud or crazy, either. I... More

To place this review in context, I was in a large group with a limited dinner menu, so I cannot comment on a more typical dinner experience. I chose to have the fish and chips, which of course was deep fried. However, the 2 large pieces of fish, though nicely done, had little taste. The French fries were fine and... More

Six of us met for dinner last Friday night. Appetizers and food were prepared well and served nicely. Two electric guitars and a male vocalist were great, but their volume was too loud for any conversation even though we were seated as far from them as possible. As a musician myself I can only assume the trio doesn't know the... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront
This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.
