This is such a happy bakery which I went to when I got stuck in Boston. The absolute best Cannoli ever invented. I mean it sincerely. Irresponsible. You'll love it.

As you walk along the Freedom Trail in Boston, you will see alot of Mike's Bakery boxes. We opted for Maria's Pastry Shop instead, and it was a WIN! The lines were not long, staff was friendly and traditional Boston pastries tasted amazing.

Maria and her team, all from southern Italy, are simply the BEST. All her pastries are authentic and beyond delicious. This is one of those places that 5 starts is not enough..... Skip the North End gimmicks of Mike's and Modern and head to Maria's....More
Smaller and less extensive than Mike's or Modern. The Cannolis do not compare. tasty yes but average. the Rum Baba was not spongy, and the rum flavoring was sparse.
