Went to Mistral with a friend. The tables are set a little too close to one another, but this is easily offset by the food quality and tentative staff. We ordered crab meat ravioli and escargot for appetizer and shared the roasted duck for entree. Duck was amazing!!!

Mistral is one of the prettiest restaurants in Boston, and each time of day, morning, afternoon or evening the restaurant has a different ambiance - from an after work drink and appetizer at the bar to brunch, to a special occasion dinner, Mistral fits the bill.

Decided to go here for a special occasion and was certainly not disappointed. The atmosphere was elegant and the service was exceptional. The food may even be better. The lamb chops were rare and delicate and the escargot was bursting with flavor. Would certainly come again.

We went to Mistral while visiting Boston for a night out and my husband's birthday dinner. Mistral did not disappoint. The service right from the front door with Amanda greeting us was perfection. Guillaume was our server and he was one of the best ever in professionalism, courtesy and helpfulness. I also must mention Nunzio who was very wonderful and... More

Like many reviewers have already stated, the tuna tartar and Dover sole are standouts to which I would add the flatbread pizzas (particularly the steak) and the wonderful deserts!

Nice restaurant, good menu. I would love to see more sea food dishes. The place is expensive, and French cuisine should be pricy. Except, I don’t think it’s right to charge 11 dollars for a bottle of “Pellegrino” or make 400% mark up on wine bottles. They charge 72 dollars for OK bottle of “2015 Chablis, ‘Champs Royaux’, William Fevre... More

Disappointing. Mistral has a great reputation but it doesn't live up to the hype. We went for Sunday brunch. The room is very nice. High ceilings, big windows, lots of light. Seating is comfortable, cushioned benches and cushioned chairs. We both sat on bench. The hostess wanted to seat us next to another party although there were plenty of empty... More

Nice casual nowadays can include jeans and a clean shirt with or without a jacket. Mistral's ambience appears pretty formal but once you get beyond that you'll find a professional but relaxed staff. You have all the ingredients for a fine dinner...menu, wine list, service. My "black mussels" appetizer was extraordinary. The duck with mushroom risotto perhaps just too much... More

This may be the long-standing best restaurant in Boston. The food is outstanding, the wine list exhaustive and the service impeccable. You'll pay for it all, but well worth the treat.

The valet parking was really rude with my friend. The resturant was closing and we asked if we could leave the car there since the resturant was closing and he's replay was rude and it made us feel embarrassed in front of the other people that was leaving the resturant and saw what was going on. Besides that the resturant... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
