a great experience with very friendly staff. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The brunch is worth a try.

We stayed at the Fairmont Copley Plaza where the OAK Long is located so eating here was, at first, a matter of convenience. However, I would recommend the restaurant even if you are not a guest. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was very good.

This is by far the worst experience dining out I have ever had. We went and sat at the bar, when we got there only 2 seats available so us other 2 girls waited for to more seats to open up, when they did we moved them in to a little circle because we were at the L shape portion... More

Breakfast was wonderful and service was excellent. Sadly the night before we attempted to have drinks and snacks at the bar and could not. The bar was very busy but the cold shoulder that I received from the hostess and one of the bartenders had us running out the door to find somewhere more pleasant. We were guests at the... More

Actually, two huge gas fireplaces above the bar. Great room, with historic architecture. Menu has shared plates as well as solo entree choices. The bread in a skillet with honey butter is a must-order. Scallops with grits were scrumptious. Breakfasts good, too, though on the expensive side. Don't let the noise scare you if you want to talk, many of... More

This is a great place for breakfast, lunch, drinks or dinner. Lots of energy in the room. Beautiful historic feel but has some nice modern touches. A bit pricey but worth going to.

If you value your sanity and your dignity, stay as far away from OAK Long Bar + Kitchen as you can. We had three experiences with OAK, and none of them was pleasant. On Saturday night, I wanted to grab some bourbon and relax before my wife and I headed out to dinner. After waiting a while for a seat... More

My husband and I where staying at the Fairmont, which this restaurant is attached to. We went for dinner on Saturday night. Thankfully we made reservations because it was very busy. Its not the atmosphere of other Fairmont properties we have stayed in. Seemed like more of a trendy night spot with food. We where sat quickly, although the tables... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
