After reading the reviews, I thought I would stop off for breakfast. Ordered ham and eggs, the ham was the cheap preformed ham which was disappointing. Eggs and potatoes were as expected. Not worth making a detour.

We just happened upon Charlie's as we were on our way to a different restaurant. Charlie's was busy and smelled really good. One of the chefs took us to a table and recommended we order quickly because they were turning off the grill in 5 minutes. We didn't realize they closed at 2 pm and it was a little after... More

The blueberry pancakes were fresh and could have fed 3 people. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the master flipping food and creating breakfast magic!

Recently reopened breakfast stop. Next door to Giacomo's in South End. Nice diner with excellent service. Be sure to try the turkey hash!

This place felt very authentic. We called in for breakfast - recommended by our American friends who had eaten there the morning before. It's a small diner and we had to wait outside for a table to become free. It was raining but that didn't matter! They added our name to their waiting list and we were called about 20... More

The definition of american breakfast diner food, served hot and tasty, with loads of flavour! The spicy sausage breakfast with bacon delivered on all fronts. Remember: cash only and closes at 2pm.

Charlie's was very close to our apartment at the Boston Christopher so we strolled over on a Saturday morning. We were immediately seated at a table in the window and coffee was brought very quickly; the coffee was lovely and our mugs were kept topped up the whole time we were there. We were lucky to be seated so quickly... More

We were delighted to be taken to Charlie's by a local Bostonian for breakfast. Although, a small space, Charlie's packs a big breakfast, lots of choices and the price is very reasonable. Our food was served thermally HOT and that is the way breakfast should be served. Good Coffee too!! One thing to remember, they do not accept credit cards... More

Friendly staff, good service, great experience! portions are huge and reasonably priced. I had turkey hash with poached eggs - awesome! They do really good poached eggs. Wouldn't recommend this place for large groups though, seating's limited.

Went here expecting great things from reviews. Found it to be an average diner with an overly long wait.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
