Fill- a-Buster is a small lunch spot directly across the street from the Boston State House on Bowdoin street. The food is really good and cheap. Try to go before noon as it is a small place and it fills up quickly with locals who know a bargain. On Thursday only , they have the best fried chicken parm ,... More

Small place with limited seating however a great lunch location for local Beacon Hill employees. Chicken kabob dinner which includes salad and rice has large portions AND is delicious. The spinach pies are also my favorite!

Walk two blocks from Nine Zero Hotel. Friendly quick accurate service. Four of us had breakfast. Our food was prepared correctly, my "over medium well eggs" were just right no runny white, nice thick bacon and toast. Will try this place for lunch. Must go next door for washroom facilities. It's small, clean and very popular with locals. Some Greek... More

I was with a group in Boston on business and we were taken here for lunch. This is a Boston staple, next door to the State House. Their menu is Greek. They offer a large selection, from "plates," sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. I ordered the Greek salad, and I have to say that it was mediocre. It was just some... More

Not the most pretty place in Boston, however they are very quick in serving you and it is useful when you are on the go. Not too expensive and the food offers variety. Price: Under $10 per meal Recommendation: Spanakopita

This was just around the corner from our apartment whilst staying in Boston. A great stop for breakfast, served quickly and really delicious, great coffee. No frills and excellent value, just what you need to start the day.

I've been going to this place for a long time. I work at the State House and this is just across the street. Everyone works hard and they truly try to make all of their customers happy. You can see that the locals really appreciate them - there was a line out the door this afternoon when I went to... More

this is not fine dining but it is a great little café for brekkers or lunch. Called in and had 2 breakfast sandwiches and coffees for $10. the sandwiches were toasted bagels with eggs and bacon. Done very well with nice crispy bacon. Place was really busy with lots of regulars. It's not fancy but if you are looking for... More

Small eatery, I went for breakfast. Basic breakfast menu, eggs & toast kind of thing (nothing special). Seems to serve locals and workers from the courthouse across the street.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
