I was looking for a good authentic Fish and Chips place in the Back Bay area, and came here based on online searches. If you are looking for ambience or decor, this is NOT for you. I almost walked away, but glad I did not. The Fish and Chips was great! I had the Cajun Catfish. Why can't Americans make... More

Just a simple fish market and restaurant. Your surroundings are nothing to write home about. But the fish a seafood is. The fried haddock and fried clams were fried perfectly, moist, meaty, and tender. Simple breading that let the flavor come through. There is plenty for the price and you will not go hungry. Clam chowder had lots of clams... More

Delicious fresh seafood! Came here with the kids straight from the airport. Not fancy, but delicious. The best haddock I have ever had.

Morse Fish Co. is.....well just ok. The clams are greasy. I use to go there when I was a kid and they were definitely better then. There was sawdust on the floor and cars would park diagonally outside. The place has changed and the clams and everything else is not that great. SIMCOs on the bridge in Mattapan MA is... More

It seems almost shocking to find a place so down-to-earth in the South End, but Morse Fish is definitely not trendy. Not only that, but the variety of fish and seafood in the standard local preparations turns out very well, the fish fresh and tasty, the batter relatively light, the portions generous, and the overall quality superlative. This is definitely... More

Apparently this is an iconic spot in Boston for simple seafood. That may be the case, but I think we have moved on a little as a society that certain standards of decor are expected if trading as a restaurant. We were only here to try to fried clams, which I ( and my fellow diners) thought were distinctly average.... More

Morse has been in the neighborhood forever and still has the best freshest selection of fish. Grab some and pop it on the grill. They also cook mainly fried fish meals, just average but a good bargain.

Great prices for solid seafood! I got the lobster roll and my friend got the catfish and we were both satisfied. Everyone was incredibly friendly - will definitely be coming back!

If you are looking for a "grab & go", and want some of the best seafood around, consider Morse Fish Company. That is the end of the story. If you are looking for good chemistry, and an inviting, scenic restaurant, this IS NOT the place for you. We found Morse on our always trusty TripAdvisor, and elected to "dine in".... More

Super casual - you're eating inside a store front family run historic fish market which has been in business since 1903. The prices are extremely reasonable! Their full belly fried clams are some of the best I've ever had - very tender, super fresh, with that oh so delicious sweet of-the-sea taste that you can only get from full (or... More

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
