We had a disappointing experience here. We love good food and are fine paying for it. Consider that here, the tasting menu for 2, with wine and including tip is $1,000; It needs to be really special. The food was inventive and delicious. But it...More

A bit late of a review, but our dinner at l'Espalier this last NYE was wonderful. The tasting menu was exquisite, and the service was perfect. The waitstaff (so many) were so attentive to my mom's needs, and nothing on the table escaped notice -...More

Went for a romantic dinner. So disappointed. Service was adequate but food was uninspired. Bland and unoriginal. Plus charge $20 for parking and lost car for 20 minutes. Go elsewhere, your experience will be better.

L'Espalier is an essential place to visit for any connoisseur of haute cuisine in Boston. The ambiance is very pleasant--low light, low noise, plenty of space per table, beautiful artwork. The chef is very creative so I would recommend going for the full 12-course tasting...More

We came here for my wife's birthday and sat at the Chef's Table, right in the kitchen. The only menu for this was the Chef's Tasting Journey menu, a 13-course extravaganza. We were warmly welcomed and shown into the kitchen where we were greeted by...More

The seven course meal ranged from delicious appetizers through salad, fish, meat...the gamut. Servings are small, but...More

First of all, you should know that L'Espalier is really expensive. A recent evening there with my husband and me ran us $500 including the 8-course tasting menu and cocktails (no wine). However, the place is really really well done--the atmosphere, the service, the drinks,...More

I’ve been struggling with how to review this dining room. On the one hand, service was close to flawless. Food is good, but not exceptional, given the price tag. I had the 8-course chef’s tasting menu. Nicely done, but not really memorable. Plates are well...More

Be prepared, Boy Scout: The place is expensive. I know. I've been there about a dozen times, almost always during our Thanksgiving Haj to native earth. I could also say that, while expensive, L'Espalier overdelivers for the price. The venue is sublime; great art, including...More

The menu is complex, poorly explained by a young man who is always anticipating what you don't want and never what you want. Food marginal at best. Service slow. Very slow. Great cheese plate. Seems like its list it's glow. Never again.
