We went to The Dogwood Cafe on a whim from out of town on 4/7/17. We were amazed. Our waitress was awesome. She was taking care of what seemed like every table in the bar area and then some. The place was very busy but she did not get fazed by any of it. The food was great! I got... More

I loved the fish and chips and the baked brie. It was one of my favorite place to go when snow in Boston requires to stay near home and stay warm. Although they have a traditional american menu, I found a great pizza. Maybe a little bit heavy with kilos of cheese and topping on it, but I know that... More

I go to the Dogwood for dinner all the time. The atmosphere is great, the food is always fantastic. You will never leave hungry, that's a guarantee. The beer menu is always rotating with different beer, so there is always something new to try. For those of you who like mixed drinks, they are always great and tasty. They often... More

Awesome city style pub with great beer and a terrific menu. I had the chicken on a brick with a kale and cauliflower side dish that was amazing. Another family member had turkey tips which they said was delicious. Def going back!

Immediately seated 7 of us @ 9pm. Attentive service. Fine selection of beers and other drinks at usual expense. All meals arrived at the same time, properly heated. Ready to eat. My chicken pot pie was hot, crisp crust, savory filling, topped with mashed potatoes. $15.99 Reasonable for Boston. Rest of food was comparable. Fish & chips, veggie burger, lamb... More

Just what you want for a bite of food, a good beer and some friendly people. Maybe just a bit expensive on the beer and wine.

This is a very pleasant gathering place in a rather dark and quiet neighborhood across from the Forest Hills station. The burgers are great as are the many types of salad. Plenty of entrees to choose from. Generous martinis too! Service was friendly even as we asked to change tables and cut the air conditioning.

the Dogwood Cafe had a great number of things to choose from on the menu - from seafood, to pizza to burgers. Would definitely return!

Two of us had brunch at Dogwood which was conveniently located as we were staying in Jamaica Plain, right in front of the Forest Hills T stop. The English muffin sandwich was great and the option of a single pancake (instead of the listed 3) was perfect. Great service and nice selection of beers. The Bloody Mary was spicy, just... More

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighbourhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
