We love this place. We see many people walk by along Charles St and pass it up because the restaurant is below street level and kind of hard to walk in to. However, if you give it a try I think you will be surprised how god this place is. It's a small intimate restaurant and the menu is unlike... More

Started with a salad which had lettuce and pomegranate in a light blue-cheese dressing. For an entree, I had a delicious chicken Julia (chicken stuffed with brie and spinach) which came with mixed vegetables. Plan on going back again to have this before the menu changes on the first day of spring. As it was a Monday night, we were... More

This was such a cozy and comfortable place for a romantic dinner. The service was superb and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend it! Ask for a table on the second floor where it is very quiet.

Let's start with its website. Half of a 2-minute video has the owner/chef talking about the 'atmosphere' of the place. His claim of having served one of his pies to Marlene Dietrich is unsubstantiated.Although gays were irresistably drawn into her orbit, her last public appearance after all was in 1975 and she spent the remaining years in Paris, in seclusion... I've been there with my mate during a vacation in the U.S. and we both found it very interesting. Chef Peter Ballarin will fascinate not only with his plates but also with his conversation. Not to miss !!

We didn't stay long - just long enough for a Boston champagne (prosecco, raspberry liquor and lime). Great atmosphere, great service!

Personally, I liked the cozy, unique, and charming atmosphere of this downstairs restaurant and bar. We had already eaten dinner and peeked through the window to an Edward Hopper scene. We were going to have a drink but stayed for several and ordered an appetizer. Interesting and engaging conversation with a local and the bartender from France. New Yorky. The... More

It was just terrible. I've written many reviews. This is my first to say terrible don't go there. And to make it worse, it was expensive. Ugh.

We saw this restaurant walking by and decided to try it. The food was good, well-prepared and promptly served. Although we ordered a wine that we knew and liked, our host Peter suggested we try a much less expensive wine which was marvelous (Anselmi Soave). As it was a slow night, we were able to enter into some amusing repartee... More

We have just returned from the most excellent evening in the wonderful and knowledgable hands of Chris at The Hungry I. If you enjoy excellent food and a wide and delicious wine list (expertly maintained by Chris) this should be top of your list. For quality and taste of superbly selected (local and sustainable where possible) dishes, for perfectly matched... More

Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Bring your walking shoes, camera, and select a nice day to wander through the hilly neighborhood and check out its exclusive addresses. Louisburg Square, Mt. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse up close of the State House with its beautiful and iconic dome.
