we were looking for something other than the $30.00 per person hotel breakfast served on the back bay. we found it. if you can stand the 15-20 minute wait, well worth it.

Great find. Our hotel breakfast was extremely expensive. We queued for about 20 minutes but it was worth it. Had perfectly cooked eggs benedict, copious amounts of coffee. Definitely recommend it.

Pancakes, scrambled egg with prosciutto, breakfast burrito with fantastic home fries (spiced chunks of potato). Lovely small place for a great breakfast. Definitely recommend.

Thornton's get 4 stars as a value breakfast restaurant. Nicely positioned between the hotels in Copley Place and the Boston MoFA. Simple, clean with good service. Proper breakfast at a great price, for Boston. Great value. I've eaten here before on a work trip. I just took my wife here last week on leisure. I'll eat here again.

Went here with the family two days in a row while staying at a nearby hotel. While one must wait in line on the weekends, it was well worth the wait! Egg dishes are phenomenal, as were the sides, including potatoes, sausage, etc. Highly recommend this place if you're in the vicinity. The kids loved it, too!

Good basic breakfast and lunch spot. Nice eggs Benedict. Good for pancakes and waffles. They also serve lunch. Good spot in Back Bay. Efficient service. Gets crowded on weekends.

Good breakfasts and plenty of choice but you don't get your black pudding, fried mushrooms, fried onions and decent sausages - but on the whole, you're in the States so what do you expect. Massive pancakes and lots of coffee and the usual big portions so nothing to complain about ... except... it is so popular that you can queue... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
