Get the table in the corner that JFK proposed to Jackie over dinner! Beautiful luxe dining room with great menu of good boston classics and wonderful seafoods. I had butter poached lobster - just superb! Lovely high ceilings and opulent surroundings. Breakfast buffer a cracker...More

Although the food is excellent it is the amazing server, Lilian, that keeps us going back. She is perfectly aware of what our needs are and she approaches the diners at just the right moment.

We were in town for only a few hours but had to stop in for the Boston Cream pie. We were able to check that one off the list though the staff was way too understaffed when we visited. Tasty, but not something to go...More

The atmosphere is top drawer, but the staff are overworked and had too many tables to be attentive. The Boston Cream Pie is a weirdly bland, overblown affair--I preferred the carrot cake by far.

Parker rolls and Boston. Cream pie are requirements, but all of the food is delicious. Our group had the scallops, salmon, trout, and roast chicken; all hits. Our waiter alone, who has been with the restaurant for 18 years, makes this a place I will...More

The history alone makes this place worth visiting, but the food was wonderful. (Tidbits: Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh both worked here, and JFK proposed to Jackie here.) Go with their well-known-for specialties: Parker House rolls, baked scrod and Boston cream pie. While there...More

My husband and I were so excited to try this highly-hyped Boston Cream Pie. Although it is tasty, subtle and moist, I kept thinking 'this is just good birthday cake'. Nothing more, nothing exciting about it at all.
