My partner and I went here for lunch on Tuesday around noon. We waited for 30 min but by the time we got seated the wait for the people who came around 12:30 had to wait for over an hour. They do not take a reservation. It is on the expensive side but their oysters tasted rally fresh and they... More

Had a blast at Neptune! If you go get the warm lobster roll with a few cold beers! It is in a great area to walk around and enjoy the history!

This is one of those places you talk about long after you return from vacation. We had heard from many locals that it is THE place for seafood, and the wait times verified that. We actually walked from our hotel, put our name in, then walked back to shower. Our seats were available sooner than they said, but they were... More

We started our Lobster Roll marathon here at Neptune Oyster and after four or five other rolls, this still ranked as the best. The hot butter sauce made all the difference. Oyster stew was a hit as well. We arrived at 11:00 Am for an 11:30 opening and I would recommend that as a strategy. Great neighborhood people watching while... More

The food is exceptional and we thought that this establishment served us the best clam chowder we could find. The oyster bar is also exceptional. Try the Johnny Cake for something unique and memorable. This restaurant is so good it is the only one we tried to go back twice to during our vacation but alas the line-up around lunch... More

We decided on a whim to go to this restaurant with two other couples that we met on a history tour. So glad that we did! They accommodated our group of 6 in about an hour, which we spent across the street at a pub. They will text you when your table is almost ready to give you time to... More

Absolutely the best lobster roll I have ever had. But it was my first! But for real though, it's really good!! Also had the honey drizzled Johnny cake appetizer with smoked trout? Omgggggg so. Good. Expect a long wait here but it's worth it. We waited 3 hours on a Thursday evening. Drink & shop around! Plenty to see and... More

The wait for this place is madness. You can put your name on the list and wait to be called on the phone but your looking at waiting hours. I had a lobster roll which was rather uninspiring and my wife had an oyster burger which was kind of mediocre (fried oysters should probably not be a thing). The service... More

I selected Neptune Oyster as our last lunch before heading out of town. It opens at 11:30 and when we arrived at 12:15, there was nearly a wait for a table and the line just got longer. Apparently the word is out on this place! We sampled several lobster rolls over the previous few days and this was the best!... More

My husband and I visited Boston for the first time and went to Neptune Oyster as recommended by several people. We knew the wait would be long and went there around 6:30/6:45. We almost went later at night to wait until the dinner crowd is done but so glad we didn't. We were one of the last people to make... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
