I have been going to this restaurant for the last 5 years on New Years eve and have really enjoyed both the quality of the food and the festivities. During the first two years, the tables were filled with New Year's eve items (hats and beads and whistles etc) and they served a complimentary glass of champagne per guest. The... More

The best sushi I have ever had in my life. The staff is so kind and the vibe of the restaurant is very contemporary.

If you are looking for the freshest and best served sushi and sashimi, Oishii is the place for you. Although a bit priced, the food and the service justify the cost.

We were a party of 3 with a reservation for dinner. We were seated downstairs and greeted right away. The service was a little slow to start. It seemed like our server had too many tables. We decided to go for it and ordered the Omakase for the 3 of us with 2 of us enjoying sake. All of the... More

This is quite possibly the best sushi I've ever had.. and I like to think I'm pretty well traveled! The restaurant smokes/torches a lot of the food as part of the presentation and gives a nice flavor. Their garnishes such as truffles, caviar, etc are what makes the food really stand out. I definitely recommend a trip here if you... More

Salmon on fire for your start! We ordered the Chef's tasting menu 9 courses $150 pp. Each course was delicious and the timing between was perfect. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food he served. A couple of Lychee martinis and Sapporo beer for drinks plus tip brought this bill to $500 for the night. Very pricey but the... More

Together with Uni, the best Japanese experience in Boston. Highly recommended the tower tartare, the wagyu mini beef burger, the torchon de fois gras and the salmon fire. Yellowtail jalapeño and black cod also deserve a try. Omasake also available! Salomon is a great waiter.

I have had the privilege to eat sushi in many places, including Asia, and Oishii is truly magical. The quality of the fish (which is the most important aspect) is extremely good, and the dishes are not only delicious they are well-planned. This is a MUST if you're in Boston.

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
