We visited this bakery at the same time we visited Mike's Pastry. Bova's was much less busy (we were actually the only group in there on a Saturday afternoon), but just as good!

Every time I come to Boston, I make an effort to stop by and get a riceball or lobster tail. This place is open 24 hours a day and the food is always perfect! It can be busy during the evening hours by any wait you might encounter is totally worth the wait.

Excellent pastries without the long lines that plague Mike's pastry. Great cannoli's and lobster tails.

I learned to always stop in when I was walking near Bova's. Extremely fresh bread, and a great selection. It's especially cool that it's open over night, so you can go there after you go to a restaurant and before you stop in a cafe for dessert. Everything there is good, but I always make sure to pick up some... More

Very dirty place! Food is not really tasting or italian. Poor experience! Prices are high compared to the quality of their products. Bad experience!

You just left an emergency room at 3:00AM on Christmas Eve, haven't eaten since mid-afternoon and you're starving, what do you do? Easy, go to Bova's. They are always open. Not just, kind of always, always as in always. Not only that, their pastries and sandwiches are really good. I have my favorites at some of the other bakeries, like... More

Bova's is a beautiful little bakery at the corner of Salem and Prince in the North End neighborhood of Boston. The pastries are wonderful. We did not try the calzones which others have raved about. We visited on two occasions during the same 4-day trip. We had the Reese Congo Bar (Sp.?), cinnamon sugar pinwheels (twice), a couple of cannoli,... More

I love this place. No lines ever and the people here are fabulous. So nice and down to earth. The cannolis are great and also the homemade bread and cakes too. Run here if you want no line and great cannolis.

This is the best way better than the big fancy bakeries in my opinion and its 24 hours. The best cannoli! Great sandwiches. Great cookies. You can't beat Bova.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
