Usually go with a Bento Box for lunch. Of course the wine list is great & you can purchase wine & spirits in the adjacent wine salon or "cellar." Seiyo is a great place for sushi & a light wine on a romantic date!!

The sushi here is always fresh and delicious. The service is great, and the quaint restaurant is the perfect place for a special meal or just a solid sushi experience. Also, the owner is a beer and wine aficionado, so the beer and wine list is superb.

I probably eat here atleast 3-4 times a month. The maki rolls - caterpillar, crazy maki and many others are just great. The special list of maki and sushi is must try!

The sushi is good... nothing to complain about (though it's no "Douzo"!) It's solid (and they have a few more interesting rolls to offer than your average, middling sushi spot). It's connected to a fun wine store and makes for a convenient Friday evening, after-work stop. Try the lobster-laden roll!

I love sushi. This place is a neighborhood gem that is cozy, unpretentious but serves great food. I had two rolls that I never before had and three single pieces and everything was fresh and delicious. I sat at the bar and asked the chefs what was good on that day and he recommended certain fish. Based on that I ordered.... More

The sushi here is delicious. We had the Niigata Maki, Sushi Regular, Spider Maki, and Special Handroll. All were excellent. Service is attentive and the restaurant is comfortable inside but not pretentious. Prices are reasonable. If you like high grade Sushi, eat here.

We visited Seiyo Sushi and Wine bar for a family birthday dinner. The restaurant is in a nice section of South Boston and we found on street parking on a Sunday evening. It is small but nice atmosphere. Our party of four was seated at a super small table and had to ask to be seated at a larger table.... More

Seiyo is a small little upscale neighborhood sushi restaurant in the South End of Boston that also shares space with a great little wine shop. I moved to the area about 5 years back and hadn't been back to Seiyo since I first tried it out back then. Thankfully our neighbors insisted that we give it another try - consistently... More

Not an expert on Japanese food but we like sushi and very much enjoyed what we had here. So much so that we ordered seconds! The menu is confusing in that you need to know what sushi, sashimi, maki, etc are and some things come in sixes but others are individual. The waitress was kind in helping us order. We... More

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
