Went for lunch at this centrally located restaurant in the Downtown Crossing area. Service and quality of food is exceptional. Their signature sandwiches, including the Pastrami sandwich is an excellent value for taste, quantity and price. Get there soon.. you will not regret it.

Love going to LaGrassa's for a pastrami or roast beef sandwich. Consistently delicious. At lunchtime on the weekdays expect a mix of professionals from the finance district, police/firemen waiting in a cafeteria style line or getting takeout.

The amount of meat they put on these sandwiches is unbelievable. The meat is good and always fresh. The bread is grilled a little bit, so good. I like the turkey meat, with cheese and there a special sauce that is addicting.

Best deli in New England. Tough hours for those not working in the city, and a little more fat here and there is okay (just my opinion). Keep up the good work

This historical sandwich shop has been serving the best, biggest, sandwiches in Boston for decades for a reason....they're the best! Great variety and quality you cannot go wrong with your choice. Hidden away off School street you don't have to worry finding its location, just ask any local and they can direct you to this lunch time gen!!

Great quality meats, tremendous size sandwiches. Delicious. Seating is tight if you go at noon. We try to arrive at 11:45 to beat the rush. Great choice.

The sandwiches are plentiful and coleslaw the best.Be prepared to wait a few minutes during the busy lunch time but well worth the wait.

As a former New Yorker I consider myself a pastrami maven and Sam LaGrassa's is about as good as it gets. Too bad its only open for lunch.

Sam LaGrassa's is amazing, particularly their grillled sandwiches. Never had a bad sandwich here but rather it's so difficult to choose. Pricey but worth it. Every time I eat a sandwich somewhere else it is a poor comparison to the size, quality and selections at Sam's.

Like a poor man's Carnegie Diner (RIP), come hungry. $15 is a lot for a sandwich, but it's practically two sandwiches. (Although I've never not polished the whole one off and been pleased with myself for doing so.)

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
