This is not a tourist trap, this is the real deal! I highly recommend this landmark for lunch. Beware they close early, 3:30 pm! The sandwiches are huge and the meats are awesome! It is a tad expensive at first glance, but these sandwiches can easily feed two! Its a smaller place, but they have tables to dine in. The... More

After checking into The Godfrey hotel I jumped on Trip Advisor to find a meal close by. I was pleasantly surprised to find LaGrassa's a short walk away! Great friendly staff to help a newbie and amazing Chipotle Pastrami sandwich on toasted rye. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the pickles but I sure didn't leave hungry.... More

Highly recommend for lunch. Their sandwiches are ginormous, good enough for two meals, tasty, with a lot of variety.

Great sandwiches, big enough to share. Many choices, fresh ingredients and a good price. They deliver in Boston for business meetings and it's a crowd pleaser!

I use to work near Sam LaGrassa's and they had the best sandwiches by far. They are made to order for you as you walk down the line. Big, thick and juicy.

If you are hungry, walking or sight seeing around Boston, this is the place to go for an informal lunch, best food, great location. If you work in the area, a brisk short walk, will work off that fabulous sandwich. Easy to find, easy to enjoy.

Despite the name, this is the nearest thing to a Jewish deli in Boston. Great deli sandwiches, particularly pastrami and corned beef. Always crowded at lunch time. Can do takeout as well.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
