We usually go to their Del Mar location but having out of town guests we chose the Shelter Island location. Very nicely remodeled since we had last been there. The service was excellent and the menu selection was very good. I ordered the halibut plate...More

Had dinner here and was not disappointed. The seafood was very fresh, clam chowder was excellent good flavor and not "fishy". Good selection of cocktails. Service was good at a time the restaurant was busy. For dessert you must have the mudslide. It's HUGE, plan...More

Excellent atmosphere, food/wine, and service. Started with a dozen of raw oysters followed with shrimp and grits and my wife had the catch of the day ... OMNOMNOM.

Really good food, nice atmosphere and friendly people. The Clam chowder is by far my favorite. I'm not local but eat here every chance I get.

We sat in the bar area which was nice and cozy with the fire burning. The calamari was different but good. We both had the fish tacos, Mahi and Brig tacos!

Ate in the oyster bar area to take advantage of the specials. The fish tacos were fantastic, all of them. We had the grilled swordfish, mahi-mahi, and fried fish tacos. They were moist, not overdone, flavorful, with lots of fish. The calamari was done to...More

One of our favorite San Diego seafood restaurants. This time, we enjoyed selections from a reasonably priced, three course meal menu. Main course selections include Seabass (my choice), shrimp, salmon, beef & chicken. The food was great, the service exceptional and we love the warm,...More

We spend at least four weekends a year in San Diego and I always enjoyed the Happy Hour and meals at the Brigantine in Point Loma. November 25th was the exception. Our waitress was apathetic and it showed in her initial greeting and service. When...More

Our first time here. I got the clam chowder and the wedge salad. My wife got the crab and lobster Cobb salad. We shared the shrimp & crab fondue. Everything was excellent and seasoned well. Our service was also excellent -- attentive but not intrusive.

A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few. Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Creme Brulee. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats. Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas. The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Monday-Saturday.
