We were lodging next door so this place was very convenient. They have good food, (Although the coffee is not good) healthy portion sizes and friendly staff. We loved that they were open 24/7.

Wow, what a place... first time eating there for breakfast, lots of choices. Oh wow what a surprised to me and my husband and also some people next to our table. I ordered a short stack of hot cakes, oh boy here comes a huge round plate with the same size of hot cakes... gee very first time I've seen... More

The waitress was super accommodating, but unfortunately they gave her a lot to go. The 1st cup of coffee she delivered tasted like soap (they probably didn't rinse the coffee pot well enough); the $14 Cobb salad had a piece of undercooked rubbery chicken on top of it; and when I finished the 2nd cup of coffee, I noticed the... I went on a Saturday morning, and it was quite busy, which is a good sign. I initially thought that the breakfast choices were a bit over-priced, but was surprised at the meal size, which was quite hefty. The breakfast was excellent as far as breakfast food goes. They did a good job of checking on the coffee. Good place... More

Normally when there is a wide variety, quality suffers. Not so here, or at least, with the fish and chips. It was good for a variety restaurant and a cute atmosphere. It's obvious this place vamps up with night-life and when the bars close, but a quiet atmosphere for dinner.

We for breakfast. Good selection of food but reasonably expensive. The portions are huge, which explains the higher prices. We didn't see a single person finish their food here. I had the big breakfast sandwich which was very tasty and my fiancée had the chocolate chip pancakes, which were the size of a dinner plate each (3 of). She managed... More

Food was ok/mediocre (portions are huge but taste so-so) but what I will remember from my visit is the service (and the lack of it). This is a factory focused on process and not customer service. Not coming back.

My husband and I ate here twice during our visit. Both times our timing was prefect. This spot is small and there can be a wait. The breakfast is good and the menu had something for everyone, kids and adults. We personally enjoyed the chicken and waffles. The service is mediocre but not a deal breaker. Price is reasonable $$... More

Best pancakes I ever had, hands down. Portions were beyond generous! I wish I had a bigger stomach! Kids loved it and keep wanting to go back. Thanks Brian!

On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.
