Sushi and sashimi here are as good as they come but i cannot say the same for the soba with belly pork dish (too much meat , too sweet a sauce) California roll was ok as with gyoza. overall i would give it a very good (authentic japanese) rating. Quite under-standable, service can be patchy coz of only 2 servers,... More

Tried the assorted fish poke and found it enjoyable, very fresh and delicious. Service could improve. There was only one waitress who not only seat you, she also manned the till, bartend and serve you. Place needs to invest in more servers.

Came to this place for a relatively late night dinner based on reviews and how close it was to our hotel. Sadly this was one of the poorest dining experiences we've had in San Diego. The sushi was fine, no issues with the food. Unfortunately our service was very poor. The restaurant was about 1/3 full when we sat down,... More

I understood that sushi is a good thing to try in San Diego, so out for lunch--couldn't find the higher-rated sushi place, so walked on looking--lots of seafood restaurants that also have sushi, but I wanted a place that specialized in Japanese. Finally came upon this location--can't say it made the grade. It was lunch hour, so the place was... More

Ogawashi was recommended by a friend that lives in the area. We were staying at the Hilton Gaslamp and decided to walk for some Sushi. It wasn't that far and the area is nice. Arriving we found a nice facility and kind host. The place was not very busy so we got a good seat for four. The only downside... More

Came by for an early dinner. The sushi rolls are huge and delicious. Happy Hour gets you a specialty roll for $10. My friend has the Yakisoba Bulgogi budt he only gave it a 6 out of 10. Hot sake is very good.

I only have been here for lunch several times and its a hassle to get in eat and get out in an hour. Service is really slow. Takes forever to get your check and for the waiters to come back. Food is good.

We loved our food but the service was just okay. It wasn't a huge deal, but we weren't too impressed with several things when we came for a late dinner. I would still recommend it.

This has become our go to casual sushi spot downtown. The specials have changed a few times, but I think now it's back to every day 3 pm to close specials on drinks ($4-8), a few appetizers ($3) and about 15 of the rolls ($10). The rolls are huge, so you're definitely getting a good value! Service has gotten better... More

Travelling as a family, we met some friends at Ogawashi for dinner on a Saturday night. We made reservations as we were a big group and were seated immediately at a table at the front by the open window which kept it beautifully cool. Service was great. The selection of rolls was certainly extensive and the sushi platters were also... More
