We had an Open Table reservation, were seated immediately. Small tables for four people, no room to even have side plates with meal. Ordered appetizer and wine, were served promptly and it started out on the upside. The waitress, apologized as she was covering too many tables as she made us wait about 15 minutes to get our dinner orders.... More

This was a pretty darn good Italian restaurant. My wife and I both enjoyed our pasta dishes very much. They were two for two on making delicious sauce. The service was great. Everyone was helpful and very friendly.

This trattoria's food isn't complicated, but simple in terms of honouring a few flavours and letting them shine. The dishes are a little different, the portions generous without being too much.

Out of the many, many choices of inviting Italian restaurants in San Diego 's Little Italy, we chose this trattoria because they offered outdoor seating )with outdoor heaters, of course. ) Also they allowed us to sit while we waited for friends to join us. This turned out to be a perfect evening. The food was delicious, the wine memorable... More

We were at the San Diego Zoo and were looking for a good place to eat. We decided on Italian so headed over to Little Italy. We found parking on the street and only had to pay $1.00 because meter parking ended at 6:00 pm and it was already 5:00 pm (otherwise street parking is $1.00/hour and the parking kiosk... More

The place is lovely and the service was good. However, we were very disappointed in the quality and taste of the food. As we ordered, our waiter kept suggesting other dishes that were better, which was very odd. He was not encouraging us to spend more, he just didn't think we would like their spaghetti, meatballs or lasagna! We found... More

My husband and I wanted to visit Little Italy while on San Diego. We were looking for an Italian restaurant that featured more than pasta and pizza. My hubby had prosciutto and artichoke appetizer, he loved it. I had the burrato caprese.....excellent! Creamy burrato and such tasty tomatos. My shrimp dinner and his fish special were top notch. We split... More

Arrived with no booking on a busy night. Lady at the entrance was welcoming sorted me a table outside under a heater quickly and efficiently. Service was fast and friendly maybe too much for some eg. regular hand on the shoulder but it was also well judged as I'm OK with that esp.in an Italian context. Fettuccine Alfredo was very... More

Our fist meal in Little Italy was at Trattoria Fantastica. One of the first, if not the first, restaurant establishment since the beginning of Little Italy in San Diego. Warm atmosphere, very good, fresh food and a notable wine list. Margret gave us a warm welcome and a nice history lesson to boot. Most of all it was relaxing and... More

The hostess was cold and acted put out because we didn't have a reservation. She sat us in front of the door and kept the door open. It was 54 degrees outside so we froze the whole time. Our server was less than friendly. Our kids had raw pizza which they wouldn't eat. My angel hair with pomodoro was good... More
