The salad with house Italian dressing was very fresh and nice size. We ordered veal scaloppini and chicken parmigiana each with a side of lasagna. So much food and very good . The spumoni ice cream was some of the best we have had. We dined early as we were going to a play after dinner and there was a... More

Old school pizza joint. Spending the day walking the streets of San Diego and stumbled across this place in an area that smells of delicious pizza everywhere you go. This place place didn't disappoint. The anchovy pizza and salad hit the spot!

After reading reviews and walking by, we thought this would be a great place to get takeout to enjoy inour suite at the nearby Residence Inn. What a great disappointment !! My husband had spaghetti and meatball, very bland sauce and not nearly enough sauce. I had linguini with shrimp . Not enough sauce and the shrimp were tiny and... More

This morning I landed in San Diego with a two hour layover...and was so excited to have lunch at one of my FAVORITE restaurants. Uber...very fast and easy. You will need to cross the skybridge outside of terminal #1. Only 10 minutes later...you're in Little Italy. The place just does not change. Great food and a fun atmosphere with authentic... More

The food is delicious and very authentic actually it feels like home prepared food by an Italian grandma. It was a great experience, my husband and I wanted to have a taste of several things so we had half order of lasagna and chicken park with spaghetti and a veggie pizza, the portions are great we had plenty left over... An Italian restaurant in Little Italy should be good. This one isn't. When you can't tell the difference between a meat sauce and a marinara sauce, you have a problem. The waitress actually swore there was meat in the meat sauce. I don't believe her. When do you need a microscope to see the meat in the meat sauce, you... More

First we walked into the front ethnic grocery store, a great addition to this restaurant, located in the back. You walk into low ceilings adorned with old wine bottles in traditional holders, dim lighting, booth and tables. A fine dining elegant night out this is not. The menu has a nice array of pizzas, pastas, salads, the usual fare for... More

In the 80s and early 90s my family lived in San Diego while I was still in school. Filippi's was a place we visited roughly every 2-3 weeks (usually on Friday nights) for a few years - I think all of the visits were at the Clairemont Mesa location. Twice in the past year while visiting San Diego I've eaten... More
