Really nice cafe in Soho with great service. The coffee was really good and so was the food, though the portion could have been slightly bigger for the price.

We went to this restaurant a few times for both breakfast and lunch. It is owned by Australians and has the casual friendliness and fun atmosphere that you would expect. The breakfast menu is different to most NYC breakfast places and is very good. The prices are reasonable. The staff are generally from Australia and enjoy what they are doing,... More

This spot has really interesting and healthy food options (plus some guilty pleasures) and it's dog friendly! We had the crispy rice salad and fries with truffle aioli. I would note that I wasn't impressed by the portion size - it was noticeably small and they don't plate to hide it. Additionally, the halloumi was burnt and the salad itself... More

We came here on Friday night needing a table for seven – quite a feat given the small size of the place – and the staff was perfectly lovely in accommodating us. We ordered burgers, which we had heard so much about, and they were not only the perfect size but cooked to perfection. Truffle aioli and brussels sprouts were... More

Visited Ruby's with my husband on our vacation to NYC. It was a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed - some very tasty food in a cool setting: sunny, warm morning and we were seated by the open window and got to watch the people walking by. Food was great - tasty and fresh. Deducting one star... More

The burgers and side dishes were very good, good beers too. The only thing that left me a bit confused was this light Australian theme that the restaurant had: some of the dishes were named after famous beach like bronti or bondi and there was a framed picture of the Sidney opera house sitting on top of the toilet. So... More

We stayed down the road to Ruby's for a week and ate here nearly every day for brunch. The cafe is only very small and gets very busy. However the staff are very friend, welcoming and efficient (and cute). From the bacon and eggs, Vegemite toast to the burgers and pastas the food was delicious. Good size portions, fresh and... We were just looking for coffee and something for breakfast but boy what a jackpot in this Aussie enclave. Best healthiest breakfast I have ever had and best coffee I had in our week long stay in New York. A must visit

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
