I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food taste was on the so-so side. The portions are big. I will say 1meal is good for 2 people that are not that hungry. My husband choice was so big, he left half of the portion. He was full. I did eat mine however, left 1/3 of the rice and 1/2... More

I had a nice dinner at that little place in the village. Friendly people and very good, spicy food. There is no other Indian restaurant in the vicinity. Go than!

We were 7 people, a lot for the small restaurants on Christopher Street. We really wanted to eat in the Thai restaurant, but the wait was too long. We looked in next door at Karahi, and it was empty. We were nervous. The prices were higher than we wanted to spend, and the portions were small, but all was tasty and... More

This was a take-out order. I got the Vegetarian Lunch Special for $7.95. I was concerned about getting enough food. But I had a delicious eggplant dish with a nan and rice, and I couldn't finish everything.

I dislike writing negative reviews but our dinner at Karahi was so painful that I am forced to submit this review to TripAdvisor-please view this as a public service. Best of all were the condiments, the spiced onion and the coriander/pepper green sauce, standard fare at many Indian restaurants. My wife had a vegetarian meal, a mish-mash of vegetables with virtually... More

In one sentence - high price for a really poor food. I ate the tandoori chicken and it was dry, the soup wasn't good. We asked for a separated bill and they said that they can not do it because it's too complicated.

We have the vegetable korma and chicken korma. Delicious. Lunch was $7.95 vegetarian, $9.95 meat. This included rice, naan and water. Worth a stop to this cozy place!

Wonderful intimate place.....gracious service. The food was excellent! I didnt care for the raita, very watery but maybe that is the way they like to prepare it. The tandoori roti, yellow dal, chicken tikka masala were all wonderfully prepared.

The food was great and service good. Got a "special" grumpy owner but i guess its a bit caresmatic. We had a great time with chicken tika masala and butter chicken as two courses we both enjoyed very much!

My partner and I meet friends in the Village for dinner and drinks. We had decided on Indian and found this little gem on Christopher St. The server was friendly, the service was quick and the food was very good. This is a definite go to when we're in the West Village and in the mood for good Indian food.

Thank Chris M

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
