Popped in here before seeing a show at The Public Theatre down the street. Won't be the last time I do that! As a solo diner I was easily seated quickly on a weeknight at 6:45, but larger parties were waiting a long time. A wait would be worth it though. Loved the signature wing appetizer and the pork ramen.

My daughter asked if I would like Ramen for lunch and I sort of wondered why. Eating here is not at all like the stuff you make yourself. It is one of the two best Japsnese places in New York. We got there a little before noon. We were able to get seated right away. I usually avoid Japanese food... More

Visiting NY from Australia and my friend took me this ramen place which supposed to be one of the best ramen in NYC. We waited more than 30 mins at 3pm. Overrated and overpriced. The ramen was ok because we had better in other cities. They charged extra for eggs and pickled vegetables which usually are included in most ramen... More

My new favorite Ramen place in NY! The best noodles, with a delicious broth! Gotta try the Frozen Kirin Ischiban next time!! They could add a chicken broth as a suggestion.

Restaurant is bigger than it first appears, though not huge. There is varied seating arrangements from shared tables, to a few booths and tables. Not knowing much about Japanese foods made understanding the menu a challenge. We tried several different ramen bowls. The broth was delicious - rich in pork flavor. I had the classic bowl. It had two thin... More

Yes you have to wait for a table - but the wait is worth it. They will text you when your table is ready so if you don't want to wait in the small bar area you can go for a wander around the Astor area or the East Village where there is heaps of places to grab a drink.... More

We scored a table for 3 on a busy night with no wait. The ramen were very good as was the pork buns. The menu is varied enough to accommodate a special diet. The service is efficient and the servers very nice. Portions large and shareable. If you dont want Ramen there are plenty of other options.

Since I have to wait three hours at Tim Ho Wan, I went to Ippudo to have the lunch first. They have wait line, but not horribly long. We went around 11:00, so just few minutes we got seat. The soup is delicious. The amount is good for lunch portion. They will bring more noddle if you want. But we... More

Quality food, efficient service. Shared tables and not extensive menu. Dinning area is a little bit too dark and waiting area too small. We were expecting for more Ramen options - more inventive probably. They looked very similar, assuming there are 4 non-vegetarian and 4 vegetarian options. Only 2 sake options.

Ippudo was recommended by a freind, I was expecting somthing more on the Hype side, but this place has great atmosphere, very tasty food (if you are into Ramen) and alltogether it's fun. Ecpect waiting up to one hour queue.
