Warm, comfortable restaurant with AMAZING ramen! The pork is slow cooked and is magical. I enjoyed every bite! The staff is super friendly. Every time I go to New York I have to stop here.

I visited the bar with my boyfriend and some friends. My boyfriend and I love watching David Chang's show on Netflix, and decided we have to try his food. We were not disappointed at all. The food is super fresh, delicious, and so simple. I had the spicy lychee drink, and the only thing I regret is not ordering a... More

There's not much I can say that hasn't been said before; best ramen I've ever tasted. What I didn't expect was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff; they were absolutely awesome.

We went on a Tuesday at 2:30pm, without reservations (5 people), not easy to seat us but we got a seat immediately. So far, so good. I've been trying to get to this restaurant for years!! Husband is a Chef de Cuisine, so he thought noodles was not such a great choice. Then, our ramen noodles with pork belly came,... More

Who wouldn't visit a $20/meal David Chang restaurant. The ramen and the Pho were so so so good. The restaurant is small and the wait is long. If you go at 10 on a Sunday night, no wait ;). Get the hibiscus tea too! FYI the ramen bowl was more than enough food.

I'm delighted that we were super hungry when we got to the restaurant, because we ordered yummy food and had enough for two meals. We ordered the egg buns and then an order of the house ramen and also the spicy noodles. The egg buns were delicious with crispy pork belly, soft fresh steamed buns and a perfectly cooked fried... Went with a group of friends, one of which raves about it here. And I was pleasantly surprised. The pork belly was really crispy considering it was in a bowl of soup. Would I recommend going? Yes, pretty good.

Went for Sunday lunch, and it was busy, but the service could handle it and was prompt and polite too. I didn't try the buns (watching my carbs), but the pork bum with a thick slab of bacon on it looked mouth-wateringly good. As well as being good tasty food, they made it look good too. Some beers also available,... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
