Recommened by the hotel I am staying at and it was fantastic, the service was excellent, the food was delicate and the right amount. The atmosphere and decor is very much like a cafe/restaurant you'd find in Paris, the wait staff were very attentive and yet unobtrusive. I can recommend the snails and the seared scallops Beautifull

We had an amazing lunch with great service at Benoit. I was scare in the beginning because we do love the Benoit in Paris and I wasn't sure about the NYC one but they exceded my expectations. Lobster was delicious, the venison rich and tender and my sole was great!

A typical French bistro. Excellent wine selection with a small tu tasty food menu. Everyone tried a different dish, the pork rillette, salmon, filet mignon, sweetbreads, sea bass and scallops. All very well prepared. Service was extremely attentive yet not intrusive. Place is noisy so conversation is a bit hard.

The restaurant is a typical French bistro, unobtrusive waitstaff, typical French fare. We had the pate en croute with cassoulet and couldn't have been happier. It was enough food for two of us and we sat at the table and enjoyed our dinner in a most leisurely way. No one bothered us or rushed us from the table. We had... More

The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant, just one block away on West 56th street. We loved everything about our evening there. The décor is of a typical French bistro: brass railings, mirrors on the walls with reproductions of old French posters, "banquette" seating against the walls. The tables are a bit too close to each other, but again... More

We went here for dinner in a Tuesday evening in January. Everything was super tasty, service was prompt and unobtrusive & professional. Portions are large, we went with an appetite, but after the tasty bread, my boyfriend had the charcuterie & pates selection and I the duck foie gras cromesquis, both were rich and tasty. I had the scallops &... More

I haven't been to Benoit in a while and was pleasantly surprised with the renovations. It opened up the place. The food was good as usual. I had the onion soup and foie gras. There was an unexpected strand of what looked like light colored hair and about 1.5 inch in length in my foie gras. A head waiter said... More

The new sommelier is coming up to speed fast. Our Montrachet was outstanding and the ten year old St Emilion was strong, however, the jewel in the wine crown was the 2011 Maydie. Team Ducasse has an uncanny ability to source fabulous red dessert wines. The chestnut veloute with the foie gras was a symphony of delicious textures. The strip... More

This was on a recommendation from our great friend and Concierge at the Baccarat Hotel Pierre! Thanks Pierre. This restaurant is a great French Bistro and in fact I believe Ryne and I did visit the Paris location. At any rate - excellent vibe, friendly staff and terrific food. We had oysters, and French onion soup and a delicious onion... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
