I've been there a few times and wish I lived in the neighborhood and could make it a weekly visit. It feels like the kind of the place that you would make a neighborhood "joint", although it is not a joint in any way. You are well treated and it is a special place but it is not pretentious.

Let's start by saying the food was terrific. The pork chop was excellent. My branzino with honey, olives and lemons was memorable. The ravioli was great. Some of the drinks were quite good, too. I would definitely return. The service wasn't in that league. A server dropped my salad onto the floor while approaching the table. None of the servers... More

My husband and I went here to celebrate both his birthday and our anniversary. Make your reservations well in advance--this restaurant gets booked up fast. The pasta is delicious, and the service is great. Based on the recommendation of other reviewers, I got the olive oil cake for dessert. It was unique and delectable. Highly recommend this restaurant of ra... More

Great restaurant, good food and good service we arrived 30 mins late for our table due to our taxi being delayed, and it being our first time in New York (so a little unaware of driving times etc ).It was already a late table at 11 pm on a Saturday evening... the staff were lovely, we didn't feel rushed in... We had a great dinner at L'Artusi. We had brussel sprouts and cauliflower dishes that were fantastic. Same for the lamb pici and the sea bass. We had a red wine that was amazing too. Finished our dinner with an olive oil cake that was similarly terrific. Great evening.

This place was recommended to us as we wanted to celebrate my wife's 50th. The reservations were via email with ease. Dinner was delicious with great suggestions from the waiter for food and wine. Place was lively and a little noisey but was ok. The surrounding area was quiet which was a nice change to the hustle around the rest... More

The waitstaff was excellent and the food was too. We booked the private room which allowed for us to really enjoy our dinner with the family in an intimate setting. All ten of us could easily hear each other in a relatively crowded restaurant on a Friday evening. The menu had been selected ahead of time and we ate family... More

Excellent Italian and perfect date night spot. It does get crowded, so reservations are encouraged. It is recommended by the chef to order 2-3 dishes per person, in addition to a cheese plate starter. Their cheese selection was phenomenal. Amazing spaghetti, broccoli rabe ravioli, mushroom ragu, and butternut squash soup. Dessert was the real standout though, and the chocolate hazelnut... More

I took my wife here for our anniversary. L'Artusi was incredible! We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The restaurant is well decorated. The food was absolutely delicious. Our wait staff was attentive and really made our evening. Our waitress was so kind and patiently as my wife couldn't decide on a wine. She presented several options and allowed her to... More

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
