Fun upscale Japanese kitchen in the Theater District. I had the scallops on a skewer for $18, which consisted of 4 scallops, 2 - 2" segments of asparagus and two slices of mushroom. We went to Chick filA on the way back to the hotel. Great place if you are sparrow looking for a feast or trying a self-imposed hunger... More

A fairly large, high ceiling, modern/minimalist typical Japanese resturant in NYC decor. In the heart of the theater district, this moves through the courses predictably so good for a pre-theater dinner without angst. For pre-theater though, the six course would be too much! Each course is quite large so if you like to share each can be shared between two... More

It's called Robata or slowed grilled cooking. We started off with very fresh rolls before getting to the main event. We shared a selection of vegetables and my favorite ginkgo nuts. A selection of fresh meats topped us off. Got to make the doe for rice candy l. Overall a great night!

We tried this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel staff. What a gem! Outside the hustle and bustle of Theater District tourist eateries, just four blocks south of 42nd Street is this place. Note: It's in the middle of the block, just a bit from 40th/8th. The food is, at once, traditional and thoroughly modern. The music is just... More

I used to love this place, especially food. I and my husband both ordered the 6 dish course, the food is great as usual but service was super slow. It took over 30minuted to get our first drink and took another 15min. to get our first dish served. Btw that was somehow wrong one. Anyway It took total over 3hours to... More

We have been to this place for the 3rd time in 3 years. It is very nice to go with a group of people. The food is just average. A nice little thing is the moment when they start smashing the rise and let visitors join them to do the same.

We had a wonderful, long, leisurely dinner here. The pre-fixe options were several and we chose the full 7 course meal. Not sorry at all! Amazingly fresh, flavorful fish and vegetables. Since there were 2 of us, we ordered different dishes and shared them. We sat at the bar area which made the cooking the evening entertainment. Great place to... More

Went here after a show, and the food / atmosphere was excellent, but it was very pricey. For just 4 of us, it came to $230 and we only had water - no hard liquor!

Two members of our party used a Living Social voucher that provided two 6-course menus for $72, a nearly 50% discount. This was a great deal and each course was phenomenal with excellent service. The other two members of our party ordered off the regular menu and had great experiences as well. There are several other tasting-type menus at a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
