The AOC is not very busy in the morning during the week. I had a very delicious breakfast with good Coffee and very good Baguette accompanying the Omlette. The frensh music creates a very cozy atmosphere and the service was nice and fast

Nice atmosphere, good (not great) food, large portions - but frozen chips! Our third visit and it would have garnered a four star review had it not been for the sad end to the evening. I added 15% tip - and was told that it wasn't enough! I'm personally tired of the way that large tips are expected - hey!... More

The menu looked promising, the setting was quiet and French, but the service was slow and aloof. We ordered simply a croque madam and Monsieur. When it finally came 30 min later, the fries were wilted and the sandwiches tepid warm. It clearly had been left under the heat lamps and forgotten. I can see how the food could be... More

The food is French, and absolutely stunning. The moules, the fish, the chicken: EVERYTHING. Even the fries were great. The service is both extremely friendly and very professional. They have a heated terrace and a garden in the back with big buildings surrounding it: very quaint. The music isn't loud. The prices are fairly reasonable. They're in the heart of... More

Large portions and variety of good food. Had an bacon, spinach and tomato (you can select 3 ingredients) omelet which was good and French toast which was tasty but a tad burnt. Attentive service and not long wait.

After being told of two-hour waits at two other restaurants, AOC seated three hungry diners immediately at the bar, and we weren't disappointed. The excellent company made the meal, but the good entrecote, mussels and wine, and service, were critical ingredients. Next time we hope we can get a table (there are many), have space to try their desert, and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
