Very good restaurant. A bit cramped. I understand the intimate vibe, but no one at any of the three tables surrounding us could move their chairs or even sit comfortable because of how tightly packed we were. The smoked fish platter appetizer is great. The chicken cooked under a brick is fantastic. Risotto, excellent as well. The desserts were a... More

I visited this evening with a friend. Most waiters wouldn't be thrilled to wait on two older women, especially when one of them is only having a cocktail! This was not the case. Our waiter could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. My chicken cooked under a brick was succulent! The beautifully crafted cocktails were sublime! The gelato I had for dessert was the... More

After hearing about and reading reviews on French restaurants in NYC, I decided that we should try Antibes Bistro. We've been to and enjoyed Matisse (NYC) ,Le Canard Enchaine (Kingston, NY) as well as others which may or may not have survived over the years. Without a doubt, the food here is very good. Notable dishes include the Seared Foie... More

Went here for dinner with 8 family based on a relative "knowing the owner". Small, busy, fun space. Menu is limited, some nice standards done very well, with a couple of specials. All the salads (especially the grilled octopus) were delicious. Dinners (chicken under brick, lamb shank, risotto) were equally good. The food is moderately priced for the neighborhood ($18... More

We went here for a 21st birthday, there was a group of 7. The menu didn't have a huge amount of choice but there was generally something for everyone. No children's menu but they did make plain pasta for the two children. It was quite expensive but the setting was lovely. They charge full price ($21) for the kids pasta... More

Delicious salmon, good cocktails. Good place for meeting up with long lost friends. Live band was playing Tuesday night.

We had a brunch reservation but arrived a bit earlier, they were kind enough to let us sit at the bar until they finished setting up to open for the morning. Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice, French toast, and yogurt with granola. The restaurant has red-bricked walls and overall has a very cute, romantic, and cozy atmosphere. The best part... Five of us tried Antibes on a Saturday night, admittedly, when every restaurant is at its most busy. We were welcomed by blaring music (not live, as other reviewers have noted) and a very crowded, bustling restaurant. Just a little too crowded, too noisy for our taste. And so crowded that one person in our party actually had to get... More

We had dinner twice in the Antibes Bistro. The selection is reasonable and the food is well presented and good. The service is prompt and friendly. Furthermore there is always live jazz music which makes the dinner even more enjoyable. We would recommend the Antibes if you are staying in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
