We came here for lunch to wrap up a romantic three-day weekend in NYC to celebrate our anniversary, and we couldn't have made a better choice! The quality of the food, the artistic vision, the skilled execution, the service were all perfect. It was one of the best meals that both of us had ever had. (Of course, at $250... More

First the street parking there is not so easy given the police security there at Trump tower and they don't valet parking. The reception area was pretty crowded given the lack of space. Seems there were confusion with who gets seated first. We were seated at a table next to a corner table that was unoccupied. Corner table has a... More

This is the story of a place that i waited for all my life and gave me a great disappointment. Expectation is set so high and whatever you get in return can be let down. I went there because i read about the chef's tale and how he got there. Then his philosophy was very intriguing, french kitchen mixed with... More

I recently went to both Jean Georges and its sister restaurant Nougatine. Jean Georges food was excellent, the service was excellent, the Maitre D was pleasant, overall we really enjoyed the experience. One dish I would particularly recommend on the current menu is the crab starter, from the texture we could tell it was really fresh (I believe most of... More

Less is more with this restaurant. The welcoming at the reception area was not particularly friendly but admittedly it was busy. The dining area is bright and quite full (Valentines day). There was a lot of wait staff and I counted 13 at one time in the room, there were around 25 tables. We decided on the lunch tasting menu.... More

I must admit, I was disappointed. Given the stellar reviews and reputation I expected to be amazed. Service was very good, menu was interesting, but I was not left with a burning desire to return.

As it should be at these prices. But Jean Georges more than lived up to its ratings and reputation. The staff was very gracious about making slight dish modifications. Rory, the sommelier was outstanding, recommending unusual bottles for every course. Service was exquisite. A wonderful evening for four people with discerning palates.

We ate at this restaurant and we were skeptical of its hype, but it exceeded our expectations! The fare was scrumptious, beautifully presented, with high caliber service and just a great ambiance. The 3 star Michelin rating is well deserved and the prices were not out of line for NYC (no gouging). The only thing I was shocked by was... More

This is the place of significant hype but I had a mixed feeling. I was not impressed by a lobster - i felt for the price it should have been much better! The menu was inventive but some dishes did not work out for our party, while some were quite outstanding. The service was uneven and at times confusing, even... More

Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.
