We celebrated our anniversary here and had the summer tasting menu. My whiskey fizz was perfect. The best dish was the corn ravioli. It was really the best corn dish we've ever had. The halibut and lamb were fantastic too but it was all too...More

OK, I knew only two things about Jean-Georges Vongerichten before making my very first reservation at his eponymous restaurant. The first thing was that he owns one of only six three-star Michelin restaurants in New York City. The second was that Hugh Jackman is his...More

You really can't beat the location (at the corner of Central Park) or the price of the 2-course lunch menu (less than $60). Service and food quality are both excellent. I neither felt rushed nor impatient with the timing of the meal, which was ideal...More

How this is not the #1 rated restaurant in NYC, I don't know. Our lunch here was so phenomenal, that to put it into perspective, our experience at the #1 rated Daniel the night prior was dull at best. The waitstaff moved in choreographed precision,...More

It is not easy to land a reservation at Jean George's. However, if you are lucky enough to dine there, the evening is unforgettable . We checked the wine list on line and came with a list of wines in hand. The sommelier kindly took...More

Description
Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.
