The surrounding hotel community typical has overpriced breakfast, and other meals, due to their union workforces. The luncheonette is a great option avoid the high pricing. Otherwise, hey- its a diner. But the volume gives me confidence in the freshness of the product. I've eaten there hundreds of times- not hyperbole- and they truth tables quickly. As with most diners... More

I visited this diner twice based on other trip advisor reviews and received excellent service and meals. First visit was dinner, service very fast, portions very generous, food met all my expectations and price is very reasonable for Manhattan. Second visit was for breakfast. Just like my dinner visit, fast and courteous service, generous portions and food is tasty.

We dropped on for a snack having walked all day around the sights. The chicken soup needed a little soup, but was devoured quickly. The boys shared a brisket. Beautifully tender and when very quickly. Well worth a visit, we'll be back to try the breakfast everyone is raving about.

Great diner with good service and solid food. Visited on a cold morning before heading out of town. Was crowded, but the experienced staff kept things moving. Tables were tightly packed, so if you need personal space, skip this joint. Everything else was on point!

We were staying at the Waldorf and the New York Luncheonette was just across the street. Great, freshly cooked egg dishes plus fresh fruit, oatmeal and cereals. Friendly staff, good service and bottomless coffee. Very busy on a snowy Saturday but still fairly full at other times. A mixture of tourists and locals. Fully recommended.

We visited the NY Luncheonette as it was near our hotel and we had seen good TripAdvisor reviews. We weren't disappointed! There was a short queue on our first morning but it was worth the wait. We had a mixture of different choices for breakfast but all were fresh, delicious and arrived at the same time! The staff were polite... More

We walked here from our hotel, arriving in New York only an hour earlier. We wanted a variety of menu items - breakfast & lunch - and preferred a spot with a local, relaxed feel. We all enjoyed our food, and my 15 year old son discovered cheese steaks, which for some reason he had never tried before. A large... More

We stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay on 48th Street and went round to the Luncheonette on recommendation for breakfast. Great service, good food, really busy but the staff don't take long to get you a table. Definitely recommended.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
