We had a large group when we visited this restaurant so they put us in a private room upstairs that was gorgeous! The service was great and surprisingly the chicken pot pie was the biggest hit at our table! I'd recommend the restaurant to anyone who lives or travels to NY.

I think this use to be a super hip spot. The space is fantastic. I love being in it. It's easier to get a reservation now than it used to be. The food is good, solid, and so are the drinks. It's not too noisy, so you can have a good conversation. It's dependable, but not great. I'd return, because... More

Think probably better for a drink as fun and lively bar scene. May be a good spot for a first date as not too quiet. However, I thought the portions were small and food a little overpriced. I'd recommend for a drink, but I have not been back.

The restaurant is like a pub more than a restaurant with eclectic and dark atmosphere. The tables are unfortunately very close to each other; you can never make a private conversation! Yet the food was delicious. The service could be better Even with the table situation, I would not hesitate to return or recommend. I feel like if we had... More

We went to Manhattan for a special birthday, we stayed in Greenwich Village, so chose a higher class restaurant, to mark the occasion. The actual restaurant looked really nice inside, the table and chairs were far too crammed together though, the price was 4x as expensive as any meal we had, whilst in New York, but we did know this beforehand... I selected the restaurant based on its ratings on some NYC restaurants. It didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant had somewhat of a pub feel to it. The wine list was VERY limited. The food was very good and we enjoyed ourselves (service was good also), just not deserving to be on any top restaurant list in NY.

Made a reservation fairly easily. Staff friendly and very attentive. The menu has good, varied selections, and lots of vegetarian options as well as some exciting meat dishes that i could see, like pheasant under glass! Dishes presented well and very tasty. The restaurant sets a lovely mood, lots of interesting paintings on the walls that are covered and low... More

I have been to this restaurant a handful of times now and they never disappoint. Great food, great wine selection and the wait staff is top notch. Love the quirky decor and ambiance! Must dine at restaurant not to many know about.

My sister and I dined here for our last night in New York after hearing about their steak. Being from GA this girl loves a good steak! Bring on the Ribeye and don't trim the fat #turnup We were seated right away though I have to express my disappointment with the closure of the main dining room. All the goods... More

The Lion located at Greenwich village has a great cozy personal atmosphere. The food was awesome and combined with fantastic service from professional and knowledgable staff made the night. I particularly liked the organic chicken under a brick but I had an opportunity to sample a few items on the menu and I wasn't disappointed at all. This isn't a... More
