My elderly parents (Mom 94 & Dad 89) arrived in NYC for a day off the QM2. I googled restaurants close to Central Park with a view and this restaurant came up. I should have made a reservation as all the seats next to the window were booked. However we were offered the choice of tables available and we were... More

I came here for brunch with a view with my ladies. This certainly is the place to be to have a brunch with an amazing view of the heart of Columbus Circle in the Upper West Side. Highly recommend that you get a window seat that allows you to get a great view. When you make your reservation over the... More

I have mixed emotions about this restaurant. You really go here for the views of Central Park. We were lucky enough to be seated by the window so we got to do some great people watching as the sun went down on Central Park. Although the menu was not extensive the food was delicious and our dinner was accompanied by... More

Situated at the MAD museum (9th floor), our table, next to the window, had the most fantastic view even though it was not the best of weather. Our waiter Ignacio was first class and everything we had to eat was most enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We look forward to returning again sometime soon.

My spouse, my mom, and I visit travel to New York at least once a year to visit my sister and her family who live just a couple of blocks from Robert. We had been there before a couple of years ago, and we decided it was time to return, especially since we had plans to see exhibits at MAD.... More

The pianist was the best I've ever heard. Wonderful ambience. The service was excellent. The Prix fixe menu offered some nice selections. Very colorful and light atmosphere. Didn't score a window table, but what can you do. Still nice to look out the windows from where we were. My only complaint is that some of the selections were a bit... More

Go here if you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or engagement. The views overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle are awe inspiring. The food is fantastic and responsibly priced. For celebrations try requesting a table beside the windows (try 3-4 weeks in advance). Also, you can have the pastry chef prepare 6-8 inch birthday cake. Lovely atmosphere and live jazz... More

I was in awe as we stepped in Robert. The view is amazing and the colors of the decorations are so unique. We had a party of 8 and the waiters were so attentive. We shared a couple of shrimp appetizers and they were delicious! Everyone really enjoyed their meals.

We met old friends for dinner and the food was wonderful. I had the Brasilian fish stew and it was so tasty. The views, the not-intrusive jazz piano, the evening and the friends made for a fabulous evening.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
