I just read a couple of negative reviews, but my experience last night, based on a friend's recommendation, was wonderful. This place is a combination of 1) genuine French bistro and 2) neighborhood restaurant frequented by regulars. Are the tables too close? Yes, but we...More

Dinner recently with a friend and the place was super busy on a Friday night. We really liked the vibe in this French bistro which is pretty authentic to the Paris style bistros. Very small restaurant so you will be closely seated among other tables....More

Ordered salmon, it was so overcooked it was obvious it had been previously cooked as they brought it out within 5 minutes of placing our order.

My wife and I tried this Bistro during a recent stay in Murray Hill. The place has a lot of charm, but has tables squashed too close together (even for a French cafe) making it so crowded that people literally have to yell to converse...More

A solid french bistro style restaurant. Solid selection of french wine (note no spirits are served so have your cocktail at home). The atmosphere is very french, tables for two against the wall, easily combined for four or six. Reservations a must! Limited space. Great...More

In spite of the good reviews, we would not return. Wild mushroom soup was quite tame except for excess salt. Tuna special was prepared perfectly except for too much salt. The black “brown” rice was under cooked, well tougher than al dente. Owners response: “OK”....More

A quite cordial proprietor met us as we entered this small but cheery restaurant on 33rd Street. The bistro has perhaps 13 tables and a bar with 4 stools. It is quite compact but cheery and the food was beautifully presented and quite tasty. The...More

We stumbled upon this place while wandering mid-town. The restaurant is quite small but very cheery. The proprietor was exuberant. The food was very good and reasonably priced. A pleasant place to speak French and have a nice lunch.

Good food. Too close knit. No room to move- Tables extremely crowded- salad was absolutely delicious. Coffee was tasty. definitely nice ambiance. If they had more space it would make it much better and draw more customers

Description
Le Parisien is the go-to neighborhood bistrot for Murray Hill, offering classic French food like steak frites, escargots and moules marinieres, paired with a well-edited list of french wines. Chef Johnathan Masse brings his expert knowledge of comfort food, having most recently served as sous chef at the Waverly Inn, and also for Chef Jonathan Waxman of Barbuto. Along with owner Christian Merand, formerly of Jean-Claude in Soho, they have created a restaurant that focuses on serving consistently great traditional food with a lively and unmistakeably French atmosphere. Also open daily for lunch and brunch on weekends.
