The chef grew up in Sweden and everyone claims he is an excellent chef, he might me, but it was anything but excellent that night we had dinner there. The Chef brags about his mother's Swedish meat balls, which I ordered and should have sent...More

Let me set this scene for you: a fire crackling away in the dining room, the aroma of bread baking, a rustic decor, walls painted the familiar yellow/ocher color of Italian villages. This is Ciano. We stopped in for lunch one afternoon in January and...More

We accidentally went to the Ciano on April 9 (we passed by and stopped on our way to some other restaurant). We had the lunch menu "à prix fixe" (around 20 $ per person). It was cheap and fantastic ! I had the fish soup...More

The restaurant is not too noisy, and the food was tasty. However, we left the restaurant not feeling very good about our meal. When the wine list has its lowest priced bottle of red at more than $65.00, that truly feels like a rip-off. We...More

If like Italian we highly recommend Ciano. We sat upstairs in a private dining area and the wait service was great. A "must try" when you are in New York City.

We live in Gramercy Park on 21st street exactly one block from Ciano where we have eaten previously. Obviously some of the previous reviewers are not from this area as they identify Ciano as being in either Murray Hill or Flatiron. Check the zip code,...More

This is the perfect place to go if you're looking for delicious food in a low key environment. The veal meatballs are out of this world, and the tiramisu is the best I've ever had. Service isn't terrible but not great. Our dinner felt a...More

Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set
amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron
District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd
Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building,
which makes a good picture no matter what angle you
photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant
architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this
neighborhood is part of a historic district that was
