We traveled to NYC with friends and our last meal was at Lallisse's for brunch. It is a smaller/well decorated restaurant. There were several open tables when we arrived, but took about 30 minutes to be seated. They seemed to be under staffed one I believe may have been the proprietor). The only one who seemed to know what they... More

This lovely restaurant was next to our hotel and certainly didn't disappoint. The Hanger Steak was to die for and the Brussel sprouts were definitely more tastier than how we would usually have them with our Sunday roast. Would definitely recommend.

So we were headed to Penelope's because Trip Advisor told us to. When we got there the queue was massive. Over the road stood Lallisse, with a few empty tables so that's where we headed What a great find! Fresh, authentic Mediterranean cooking - great service, reasonable prices - what's not to like? The suckers waiting for the El Dorado... More

We tried two of the trendier brunch spots in the area, but the wait lists were over an hour. Lallisse looked like a good alternative, so we decided to take a chance on it. The food was good for a brunch option. The mimosas were also tasty. The service started out great, but our server was new and got a... More

Great breakfast! We would definitely come back! We ordered the eggs Benedict and French toast. The coffee was great! It was a 45 minute wait across the street at Penelope so we came here instead and were not at all disappointed.

We had a delightful dinner with friend visiting from Italy who is an organic food producer. She thought everything was fresh and we'll prepare. Salad dressing was light and delicious. She enjoyed her vegetable couscous. Hummus clearly house made fresh. Owner steered us to a very nice wine as well. We will definitely put it on our "go back to"... More

It is so nice, comfortable place with delicious food and smiling staff. Brunch is popular and crowded at the weekends. I highly recommend this place. They have high chair for kids too...

I'm not sure why the restaurant was not more crowded early on a Saturday evening. Maybe the emphais on being a wine bar on-line makes people think it's not a serious resaturant. Maybe the apparently compact menu makes people think there won't be enough choices. WRONG. We couldn't decide what to eat from all the wonderful-sounding options. While the $29.95... More

We were planning to go to Penelope, and got there to find a 40 minute wait....found this gem right across the street. Wonderful friendly service, varied menu, casual and comfortable setting. Everything we had was well made. Not crowded at all, and honestly I'm not sure why. Strongly recommend!

Lallisse is one of the select wine bars in NYC, a haven for real wines, naturally made without cosmetics or chemistry, sprung from the vineyards and ancient cultures of the Mediterranean. It's a place to enjoy simple, soulful and sustainable Mediterranean food and talk for hours over organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines. Lallisse offers 100 types of wines - approximately 40 by the glass options. Lallisse's unique selection features wines from France, Italy, Spain and the Fertile Crescent - Eastern and Western Anatolia (Turkey), Greece, Israel and Lebanon. After spending extensive hours of wine tasting and going through hundreds and hundreds of bottles we created a list consisting of artisan wines produced by old and historic estates of the Mediterranean run by small organic producers. It's simply the stuff the locals drink! In the spirit of friendship and love for the life, food and wines of the Mediterranean, we happily invite you to do the same.

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
