My daughter and I always go for a meal there every visit I make to NYC. The food is excellent, the restaurant not so big and the staff is friendly. I never know what the kitchen will have special that day. One of our most memorable dish was "barnicles" (not sure about the spelling, my appology). this dish was absolutely... More

I made a reservation for 2 people for 6:30 on a Friday night several days in advance. My friend had to work late unexpectedly, so I called early Friday afternoon to change the reservation. It was a very stormy and rainy day. When I asked to make the reservation for 7:00, I was told there was nothing until much later.... More

Our sangria pitcher came out watered down. It was a light pink. We complained and they added more wine. The ham croquets came out like warm. The potatoes were OK. The paella was OK. The service wasn't good. Not attentive at all. I've been here before and always had a good experience and food.

Don't eat all day if need be to chow down on this amazing Spanish food. I love eating tapas because you can graze and taste so many dishes.

This rustic and charming Tapas place in Greenwich Village offers an excellent selection of Spanish style small plates and Spanish wines. The Jamon Serrano "small" plate is wonderful and good for two or even three people. The "huevos rotos" egg dish includes slivers of wonderful Iberico ham.The duck was melt-in-the-mouth good. Service is outstanding and helpful. A great place for... More

We went here for an early dinner to take advantage of restaurant week prices. We picked it solely because it was in the right location and the menu and prices looked good. First, let me say that all the staff were very good, attentive, and helpful. Our waitress was so sweet! She made the experience better all the way around.... More

We stumbled upon this little gem on our way to a show at the Blue Note and ordered some quite simplistic stuff on the menu- tortilla, ham, cheese, potatoes, olives, etc. All beautifully presented and the staff knew everything about the menu, impressive knowledge really. Lovely waitress who took the time to talk to us and recommend things, didn't feel... More

We have visited Spain many times and love the cuisine, particularly the tapas. We then happened upon Barraca and stopped for lunch and returned a few days later for dinner. Excellent tapas. Authentic. Good selection of Spanish wines and sherries. Excellent service. If Spanish food is your thing, check it out. If you haven't discovered the delights of the Spanish... More

With its warm brick walls and cozy seating, Tertulia was just right for lunch after the movies. We surrendered to a glass of sherry from their extensive list by the glass and then sampled several tapas--ham croquettes, blistered shishito peppers, Iberico ham and, to go with it, tomato bread. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable with helpful recommendations and we'll... More

the sangria was delicious. The crispy potatoes were so good I wanted a second order. The chicken paella was a lot for two people but was yummy. The chocolate tart was really good and the salt made it! The service was good. We are definitely coming back!

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
