Went here on a whim yesterday evening. The decor is run down and the lead waitress was rude, other people have written she is entertaining, I beg to differ. When my main meal arrived and my husband had eaten half of his, nothing was said no apology. The bill came at $70 for some pasta and a pizza I think... More

We couldn't get into several other restaurants because of wait times, so decided to try Uncle Mario's. The pizzas were quite good and the personal size are only about $10, so it was great value. The service was like something out of a movie. Our waitress looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there, so it was not the... More

We found the best places on our stay in this stretch of 9th Avenue. We stumbled on this place on the evening of the world series hence it was quiet, however the Landlady in charge made up for the lack of clientele. Food was plentiful and delicious. The Bruschetta appetiser is a meal on its own. The seafood pasta dish... More

Went here on the spur of the moment. Pizza's were tasty and the free bread and marinara sauce were lovely. The lady serving, which I will assume is the owner, was great fun, brash to the point of good natured rude... heaven help the staff if anything came out late. The other half had a free beer, which I can... More

Really enjoyed the pizza. We had a medium Tony Roni and it was larger than expected and also so good. The white Sangria was a perfect drink on a warm day and the draughts were nice and cold. The service was great, definitely a good place for a quick lunch and to cool down from the heat.

Four of us visited Uncle Mario's. Two shared a pizza and a a salad, while two had pasta dishes. The main courses were preceded by free bread for the table. The mains were all nicely done, and were delicious. The service was excellent - when one of the courses was delivered to the table a little late, the wine of... More

I just had a veggie slice -- it was super good. Thin crust. My family ordered a half and half - and demolished all. Very quick service; inexpensive, excellent food. Just fine.

Been to Uncle Mario's several times before on trips to nyc. Went today before theatre but didn't get in. As a wheelchair user they've always had a ramp to get me in the side entrance. But apparently they apparently can't find it so said sorry, would we like a delivery. Er, no. So the one star review is for bitter... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
