My husband selected Casa Nonna to celebrate his birthday on November 22, 2016. We were greeted by two ladies, who were very welcoming. As my husband is not one to reveal it was his birthday dinner, I informed the ladies it was his birthday. They wished him a happy birthday. We were escorted to our table (normally seats four but... Our friend’s daughter who lives in New York City made arrangements to come to this restaurant on a Saturday evening for a pre-marathon dinner. This is a fairly large restaurant with an open kitchen. When we arrived around 5:30, the restaurant was almost empty except for a few tables. I shared the following with my spouse and her friend: •... More

We flew in the NYC late and did not have reservations, but they accommodated us at the Chef's table. Mediterranean sea bass was terrific.

We got in at about 630pm, and were hoping to sit down for pizza without walking too far. We were sent here by the friendly staff at Tavola, just around the block, because they were too full to seat us, and quite small. They said Casa Nonna was very good and had more seating. Very true! At first, the hostess... More

Terrific service and excellent food. The duck is flavorful and tender. Casa nonna has a good list of wines by the glass too. Service was prompt so we had no problem getting to our show.

I visited Casa Nonna for lunch with an old friend. Setting was perfect, with acoustics that allowed us to speak easily as we were catching up. We went for pizzas with a salad starter - just right for lunch.

Eaten here twice, each time left hoping for more. Food is very good but service is lacking. Its not for lack of staff, actually the opposite. Muliple people serve the tables and leaves you with the feeling of assembly line dinner. Value for dollar ok - just not quite hitting the mark.

I was surprised that the pizza wasn't better. It was ok, but I was expecting something way better. I did like the fact that it was not overwhelmed with red sauce.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
