This is a small German restaurant in the west village. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the all in all experience - very good. Nice drink list with bottles of wine and beer all at affordable prices.

Popped in for a coffee - and the waitress/owner was so rude - we felt like we were in her way/ a nuisance to her the whole time. When the bill came I left a tip but she shouted at me and demanded more - surely the tip left is an indication of the service received, even in the NYC... More

I was in Manhattan for business and was walking from Soho to Penn Station, looking for a place to have some breakfast. I was on the lookout for someplace unique in Greenwich Village, I walked by this place, but then turned back as I saw it was busy with patrons. The restaurant had a very nice ambience for breakfast, and... More

We sought out this place as we are from Slovakian descent. Restaurant on the corner of Morton St. Server was very nice. Recommend the smoked beef brisket sandwich and the duck with smoked Gouda. The sour dough bread was great and you have a choice of many alternative side dishes. A pleasant NYC experience.

Friends and I stopped by Doma on our way out of the Village. We had to switch tables twice because of the sun and their awning was broken. Our waitress acted like she was overworked, but the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The bibschka was good but not great. Coffee was strong, so if you like it strong you will enjoy... More

We stumbled upon Doma na rohu at the perfect time: we'd been walking for hours and were in desperate need for a drink, a sit down, and some peace and quiet. We got all 3 here. Perfect.

Breakfast each morning as we were staying in the Jones street guesthouse. A perfect start to each day Good range of breakfasts with excellent friendly service. Also had a few evening meals and can highly recommend the lentil and mushroom burger for vegetarians

Doma beckoned us with a menu of sausages, beer, schnitzel, German pretzels, and all that goes with them. It's very informal and has seating both inside and outside. We wanted a simple but tasty dinner and were tired of Italian places. Doma delivered in all ways. Good food. Great pretzel. Satisfying sausage. Really good schnitzel. Good wine too. We'll go... Description
Old World meets True Village in this charming, reasonably-priced restaurant featuring the best foods of Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary.
Favorites include the Beef Gulash, Saffron Chicken Paprikash, Pork Schnitzel with Lingonberries and grilled specialties, including the standout hangar steak and the Sausage Platter. The well-rounded wine list includes wonderful Austrian and German wines, as well as some excellent French, Italian and Californian vintages. The tap beer selection includes Czech, German and Austrian beers, as well as a few local brews done in the Old World style.
Masterfully designed to evoke the Old World while still feeling totally Village, the space lives up to its name. Doma means "At Home on the Corner," and the German light fixtures, reclaimed wood wainscoting, plaster walls, old Slovak prints and photographs are just what you imagine Great-Grandma grew up seeing in the Old Country. Or sit outside for a view of Village Life.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
