Haven't tried the food yet but if the Guinness is anything to go by then it will be very good. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's a sports bar so there are TV screens showing different games and there is always one showing soccer. It is quite like an Irish/British pub so something of a home from home!

Called in for a beer as we were passing. I wish I'd had a bit longer to spend. Good beer and service and a nice atmosphere. The food looked very good

I go the Black Sheep once a week or so and take advantage of their $10 lunch specials. I love the chicken pot pie, blackened chicken sandwich, and burgers. It's one of the few places around where you can sit down and have a nice lunch at a reasonable price.

a real hold over from the once ever-present NYC neighborhood bar, except the food is way above average - the pot pies and soups are great. Friendly service makes everyone feel welcome, drinks are along the more traditional "beer and shot" type, but very reasonable price for midtown. Short on decor, long on character.

Have you ever wanted to eat a melted stick of butter with chicken and veggies under a light, flaky doughy cloud pillow? I didn't know I wanted to until I did!! This place has the best chicken pot pie I've ever had (I'm a Tennessean and we pride ourselves on knowing this kind of food). It was fresh, gigantic, piping... More

It is so conveniently located but we had not visited it this year. So when it looked like we were in for a shower we decided to eat there. We ordered a broiled salmon stuffed with cheese and accompanied by mashed potatoes which was good and wholesome. Also a chicken wrap that was filled with meat and came with fries.... More

This was our last night in New York before a really early flight to Vegas the next morning. This bar was just around the corner from our hotel so we popped in for a couple of quick drinks. We sat up to the bar and watched the sports and had a couple of drinks. They must have had about 10... More

Noisy, lots of TVs showing sports, strong drinks, and mediocre food - everything you'd expect from an Irish bar in NYC. No surprises - good or bad. The food is typical bar comfort food. We had nachos with chili, mozzarella sticks, chips and guacamole. Nothing special or distinctive - just what you'd expect in an average bar.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
